THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY
Multiple locations

Cheesecakes are only some of the desserts available at The Cheesecake Factory, but they're definitely among the best. There's the original (with sour cream on top), one with Godiva chocolate, one with fresh strawberries, one with fresh bananas, one that recalls tiramisu, one that recalls tres leches and more. Lots more. What else could readers want? We're not sure, but if it's Blackout Cake or strawberry shortcake or warm apple crisp, they can get that, too. Red Mango finishes a distant second.

LAYERS
2708 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson

The made-from-scratch you-name-it at Layers is the best in town, and we'd wager a lot of dough on that. We like to start our day with a cinnamon-walnut coffeecake or maybe a sticky bun, but later on we're usually game for a Heart of Darkness cake, which has a chocolate-truffle center that gets all mushy — but in a good way — when we warm it, or maybe a classic linzer tartlet or, if we're really hungry, maybe a Whoopie! Pie. Whoopee!

They each ate 3 pieces and are still raving about it as are we. I have never had anything but delicious for anything I ever bought from them. They are the BEST!!!

Greg wrote on January 19, 2009 12:45 PM: Dear "unknown" person who wrote unfavorable comments about Layers Bakery...and my wife Jeanne; we are sorry your experience was less than exceptional. Frankly, we're baffled by your comments. That time of year is extremely busy for us in the kitchen what with the holidays. Perhaps she had fresh cookies/pies/cakes about to come out of the oven. Oh, and by the way, she's not full of herself...I wrote the website, not her. She works harder than anyone I've ever known and I'm very proud of her.

Jen wrote on January 16, 2009 09:53 PM: Layers Baker has the best desserts in town. The owners are friendly and will always help when you have questions. I have ordered numerous cakes from them and they are always a hit! Everything there tastes top notch from the cookies and cakes to the coffee. I recommend this bakery to all of my friends and they love it too.

Tropical Pkwy, Las Vegas) which has the BEST CHEESECAKE EVER. I never had a baklava cheesecake and even without the baklava it tastes superb!!! This restaurant is highly recommend!! It is Mediterranean style

Dennis M wrote on December 21, 2008 02:39 PM: Bought the best apple pie I've ever had, with a crust as good or better than my mother made. The owner was very polite and friendly, answered any questions I had and everything she said about her pie was true. I will definitely be back. Whoever unknown was that posted on Dec 16, 08 must be confused.

unknown wrote on December 16, 2008 07:19 PM: i went to layers bakery today in henderson, nv. and i do have to say that i met the owner and she was very rood to me and and said she did not even have 30sec to answer a few of my questions, (the bakery was empty of customers too.)and spoke down to me. if you even read the website, you can see how full of herself she is... I would NOT recommend this bakery to anyone and would suggest to the owner that she learns some customer service skills....

Sharon W wrote on October 04, 2008 04:44 PM: The Cheesecake Factory has good cheesecake, but it is way over priced, and the service is horrendous, rude, arrogant and the wait is always too long. For the price of a slice you can get a whole Marie Callendar Pie!
