I was sitting on the fence on the presidential rate up until now, but after reading through the list of "celebrities' who have contributed to Obama, I am not only voting for McCain, but I am sending him a check today....better make sure the McCain campaign doesn't plagiarize your column for a campaign ad.

I wrote a rather snarky comment on this earlier, but after a day's reflection, I find that this whole report just leaves me flat-out annoyed. Why are the political leanings of any of these people newsworthy? Perhaps, I'm being unkind, but having heard both Tyra Banks and Jennifer Anniston speak, I'm thinking that an ant could comfortably wade through the pool of their politcal thought.

At the end of the day, none of these people have a dog in this fight. Regardless of who wins, they are all well off enough to buy the health care they need and pay for the gas in whatever car/boat/jet they travel in. Food costs don't even make the fringe of their radar screens and I'll bet that the majority of them don't have a clue what taxes they pay to what government entity. A political choice to them is little more than a decision as to whose parties they want to be invited to and who they want to have their picture taken with.

A more significant number might be the fraction of annual income that these contributions represent...and only when compared against the relative contributions of those who are truly going to be affected by the policies of the next administration.

On another note...is Norman Mailer a cheap bastard or what?
