Brian Vickers is a pretty cool, relaxed dude for racing in his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Chase.
He must not be too worried about Sunday’s Cup race in Fontana, Calif., although he qualified 32nd.
Vickers was at Saturday night’s Supercross race in Las Vegas where he said he was supporting his girlfriend, CBS sports reporter Erin Bates.
Bates was working as a pit reporter for the Open show that will air next Saturday (Oct. 17) on CBS.
“She comes to support me at the races so I had to come here to support her,” said Vickers, who finished 28th in the NASCAR Nationwide race earlier Saturday.
Vickers must have been thrilled when James Stewart won the Open in dominating fashion; Red Bull sponsors both.
Who knows, one day they might be NASCAR teammates.
Keep mouth shut if son pays bills
Let your son do his own fighting if he is 18 and supporting you.
It’s a lesson Tom Logano, father of Joey Logano, needs to learn quickly.
Joey winning Saturday’s Nationwide race wasn’t enough for Dad.
A NASCAR spokesman said Tom Logano walked up to Greg Biffle's car on pit road in Fontana, Calif., moments after the race and had a verbal altercation with Biffle.
Biffle and Joey tangled earlier in the race, with Biffle putting Logano's No. 20 Toyota into the wall, a move Biffle hinted at over the radio beforehand.
Joey came back to win the race while Biffle finished 14th.
NASCAR officials pulled Joey Logano's father's credential after he confronted Greg Biffle on Saturday following the Nationwide Series race.
It’s worth keeping an eye on them in Sunday’s Cup race.
Danica alert ... who cares?
A move that could set women back 20 years in racing might not be around the next turn.
Danica Patrick offered her strongest hint yet that she's returning to the IndyCar series in 2010.
She won't confirm reports that she's agreed to a three-year extension with Andretti Green Racing through 2012.
After finishing 19th in Saturday's IRL-finale Indy 300, Patrick said, "We know what we need to do, and we'll be ready for next year."
What’s that mean?
She’s as much as a tease about her future as she is in her magazine photo layouts.
