Heck to run for congress?

Expect an announcement soon by Joe Heck as to whether the former state senator will continue his quest for the governor's mansion or jump into a campaign for congress.

Heck has been drawing low poll numbers in the governor's race and shortly after John Guedry dropped out of his campaign against Dina Titus, D-Nev., Heck said he would consider picking up the torch in that race.

Heck, a Republican, is a physician and Army Reservist, which could lend some expertise that could come in handy in a congressional campaign.

"We'll be making an announcement next week," Heck said Saturday morning.
