Coffee Party copies Tea Party -- and flops miserably

The liberal answer to the Tea Party movement took shape in the Coffee Party movement -- and it fizzled for the lame idea it was. Democrats ought to know (but apparently they don't) that you can't fake grassroots.

What's going on with the Tea Party movement is spontaneous, uncontrollable, and moving like a wildfire across the country.

If you want to see it firsthand, head out to Searchlight at noon on March 27 for the beginning of a Tea Party caravan that will snake across the country. My guess is that it will be something to see.

In the meanwhile, the video below will give you an idea of the pathetic nature of the Coffee Party idea. Not exactly an inspiring group.

I've heard it said, that this president has divided the country in a way not seen since the Civil War. I'm not sure that's true, but it is something to think about.

Why he doesn't get the message that we don't want ObamaCare, is beyond me. Later today, he's stumping in Ohio to try once again, to get his message out. Remember when he spoke at Green Valley High School? What a controlled joke. The ONLY question with any teeth, he just blew off and didn't answer ("Did you have math homework when you were in 9th grade, and did you do it?")

And THAT was his toughest question?

By the way, Sherm, I can think of 100 better things to do with 6 and a half minutes, than watching that lame excuse for a coffee party video. "Uninspiring" doesn't do it justice.

Fascinating new study by the National Business Group on Health on likely changes changes in employer-sponsored health insurance in the event reform does not pass: It's in Friday's Washington Post: "'constant, unrelenting increases in health-care costs are going to cost employees and their families more and more,' said Helen Darling, president of the business group. Faced with rapidly rising medical expenses, 'employers are going to have to do something,' she said. "

First; what's pathetic is you trying to sell the idea your 'grassroots' is spontaneous and not organized. I have a bridge in New York to sell you.

Second; the Democrats ARE the grassroots. Check out the last election. They are the working people of America.

Third; not only does the AARP, Doctors and Nurses organizations support this Healthcare Reform; your paper should have run the Associated Press story about the Catholic Hospital group that supports the health care bill.

Sorry, Sherm, this blog wasn't even a good try….

Sherm, you are either disingenuous or uninformed --- neither of which is an endearing quality for a newspaper "publisher".

If it's because you're uninformed I suggest you look into Freedom Works' role into your "grassroots" TeaBaggers. Hint --- one of its leaders is Dick Army and its address is Penn. Ave in DC.

You are a piece of work, Sherm -- don't go changing on us.

So Liberals aren't reactionary fear mongering squirrels with lots of free time and the desire to wear guns outside of presidential events? I'm ok with that...
Whats funny about right wingnuts like sherm is that they never considered that this Tea Party nonsense is what happens when the Republican party has no credibility on the national scene whatsoever. It's called a lifeboat. It's a reaction to getting you political asses beat. Wah.

Remind me again about how much money Rupert Murdoch initially lost on Fox News before it ever turned a profit? And how long it took to grow an audience of a few million people in a country of over three hundred million people?

Are you indicating that more people watching means FOX doesn't lie or distorted? That numbers means truth? Then you should be happy with the last election….

Hello Jerry,
If you are responding to me regarding Fox News I was pointing out that the boasting by conservatives about the size of the audience for the propaganda on that station is pitiful compared to the population of the U.S. In addition, if popularity indicated truth, which it obviously does not i.e. AGW, then "Dancing with the Stars" would mean something instead of just a barometer of the low overall intelligence of the public.
