He has lived as a poor American and a proud American. You could learn alot from him.
We ARE in the process of taking back our country. The last few electrons have shown that. Dick Cheney suspended the security clearance of 527 members of congress so he could refuse them access to his, “slam dunk proof” Iraq could attack us in 15-minutes and that they had WMD. Those clearances have been restored. Bush suspended the constitution so he could listen in on all phone calls. That has been canceled. Cheney suspended the constitution so he could torture prisoners. That has been returned.

Iraq was an attempt to hold Iran in place and maybe, just maybe, bring some stability to a very dangerous region of the world. Iraq under Saddam was very dangerous, he used chemical weapons on his own people. He was funding opposition to Israel. He killed 100s of thousands of his own people, maybe even millions. Don't believe me? Talk to the Kurds and his own people in the southern part of Iraq.
Those things by themselves are not enough to go to war, but trying to make a democratic country in the middle east would be. A distraction for AQ is yet another. I thank each and every soldier that serves in Iraq for putting the target on their backs, instead of on mine.

This man should be running for president. I agree with every word he said, this message ought to be required viewing for all Americans. The parasites in our government are creating parasites amongst the citizenry, and this trend has been goin on since the days of LBJ and onward. We must put an end to this tyranny disguised as Hope and Change. Liberal Polices and Programs have bankrupted the country morally, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and finally fiscally. Mr. West is a breath of fresh air. The arguement isn't about The Patriot Act, the war in Iraq or about the past acts of Presidential administrations in defending our country. Mr. West is simply reminding us that our government has slowly, incrimentally become something it is not designed to be. Congress has passed laws in violation of our own constitution. Laws which cannot pass constitutional muster. These laws have created a welfare class dependent upon others to care for their basic needs. Mr. West simply states that SELF RESPONSIBILITY is the key to individual success. Certain political parties have used the giving away of government monies to build their own welfare plantation. You don't vote for them, you have to work. An enslaved voting block. Mr. West is certainly right that we HAVE TO take our country and constitution back. And as a veteran I will do what I can to do just that. I took MY oath seriously. How about you?

Out of the hundreds, if not thousands, of OIF and OEF vets I know personally, at least 98% of them believe in the mission and support it wholeheartedly.
Many of them were seriously wounded and all they wanted to do was heal and get back to the battlefield.

I hate to be a downer.... This man is indeed a great speaker BUT it sure goes against everything Jesus taught us. Fighting will only lead to our distuction. I vote to follow what Jesus taught us about loving one another and laying down your arms. The bible also says that the world is passing away and there's no saving any country when its under Satan. I new we had a recession when some of my friends were losing thier jobs, now i am part of the depression - twice in one year! I feel like im in a washing machine with the spin cycle stuck. I believe there are many battles yet to be fought, some literaly, some figuratively. BTW - just because our troops come home doesnt mean the terrorist do not want to killus. As a fan of Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, the free enterprise system with its self policing checks and balances, common sense hard work and responsibility, freedom, innovation, opportunity, pursuit of excellence, and on and on and on . . . all I can say is may the message of Allen West expand exponentially. I just spoke with someone from Canada. The tax rate there is 54%, gas is 3 times US, and he makes his own beer because the Gov has taxed the heck out of it. And, he said the gov claimed they were only going to tax the wealthy for healthcare. The $150/month per person doesn't begin to cover health costs and health costs are 30% of GDP and heading to 50%. Go Lt. Col.

Wow! How did he do that without a teleprompter? I guess it's because he knows what is right and doesn't have to craft a speech. He can tell it like it is without a focus group or spin masters. All he's doing is reminding us of how are freedoms were recognized in 1776 and fought for and that we always have to be vigilant against enemies both foreign, and yes, domestic! There are domestic enemies who despise views that differ from theirs - look up freedom in the dictionary; anytime anyone from any party does something to systemmatically dismantle it, that is a threat to all of us and that tide needs to be reversed. He does not really say anything specific. No one likes give aways, but some are necessary, like food stamps for the starving children. The largest give away since social security was under GW Bush not Obama who inherited this mess from the Republican Congress (1994-2006) and from Bush. Example: Bush signed into law sponsered by Bill Frisk, the Pharmacuidical bill which will cost tax payers a trillion dollars in a decade. What a hipocrit!!

Outstanding! I would have voted for this guy for president, hands down. If we can get him and so many others like him in our government positions, we could take our country back. Yes, I am also anxious to have a President who will not diminish the U.S. Constitution. Yes, time is short. It is imperative that we have a balance in our political system. Right now we do not have that balance. The two party system is what has always made our country great. For the first time in my lifetime we have not come together as a country under one leader. We are greatly divided...mainly because the balance is gone. wacvet (Nov 28): Don't you realize that there is no difference between Desert Storm and OEF/OIF? They are both the same! Remember Saddam Hussein, the man who wanted to be the next Hitler? The reason Desert Storm ended was only because Saddam signed some 20 or so UN mandates in return for being able to retain power over Iraq. Then he immediately began to thumb his nose at the UN and all of those mandates. Remember the "no-fly zone"? The hostilities never ceased. It was Saddam who initiated OEF/OIF due to his continued refusal to abide by the UN mandates. I happen to be acquainted with Col. West as he took the time to attend a Veteran's day breakfast attended by myself and 50 other "Patriot" Veterans Nov. 11, 2009. What you see with him is exactly what you get. Honesty, enthusiasm and Patriotism!! How can anyone in their right mind think this country is headed down the "right path?" The 9/12 project is only the beginning of the new revolution. People like Col. West have finally had enough and have now stepped up to the challenges that confront us posed by our bleeding heart Liberals in the congress and senate. Remember that the Government cannot give to someone what is has not taken from somebody else. I have no problem contributing to organizations that I believe spend the money I choose to give wisely. However our government forces me to give money to people that waste it. We know we are in trouble when less than 50% of Americans pay federal taxes and the majority that don’t pay taxes realize that they can keep forcing those that do pay taxes to give them more benefits. even though I didn't vote for him (i didn't vote for McCain either)and Obama seems to be growing a set the last couple of days, it's the United States Congress and Senate that run this country, not the president. the only real solution and the only non violent way to send a message they can't ignore is to wipe the slate clean. vote out any candidate who voted for TARP and this universal healthcare fiasco even if that means voting for an independent or a Libertarian candidate.

Just think about the difference it might have made at Ft Hood if someone were listening in on the calls made to a known terrorist. I am a sixty-eight year-old citizen, been in the military (Air Force pre Nam), been lazy and allowed thoes who would change America turn it into something it never was as long as it wouldn't effect me so I thought. I watched my college age kids, who never had to work a day in thier life pour endless hours working for free at the behest of thier college professors (credits attached to the hours they worked) elect our Change President. I now realize my indifference does effect me and mine. Point being there is plenty we can do even if we do not live in Col.Wests district or State. Support money, time, emailing. Its frustrating to see an emotive speaker stand up and get a crowd (along with a bunch of internet comment makers) all worked up over a monologue of vague and conveniently unclear cheerleading. He can stand there and yell about fighting and bayonets til he's blue in the face but where are the helpful and realistic steps he would ask of his audience. I know that most reading this are anti Obama but at least take a lesson from him on clear communication of ideas. Well, I don't know who this Lt. Col. Allen West is beyond seeing this video, but I have to say I like what I see so far. Can do attitude and the words "Constitutional Republic" says a lot. Chappel, if you want to follow what the Bible says I suggest that you start with the book of II Thessalonians, chapter 3, verse 10 which states, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." There are too many freeloaders today looking for a handout because they are too lazy to work. Also in I Samuel, chapter 15, King Saul lost his kindgom because he did not utterly destroy the Amalekites as God told him to do. I am a Viet Nam era veteran (U.S. Navy) who does not support the war(s) but does support our troops. There is a fine line of distinction between the two, and I believe that there is agreement on this point. There is no "Domino Theory" in the Middle East, just as there was no "Domino Theory" in Viet Nam. Both Russia and China have gone capitalistic, and that is the quickest way to bring about Democracy in former Communistic countries.

A famous English philosopher once said, "Gov'ts are formed to protect the rights of its citizens. If a gov't fails to do so, the people have a right to change that gov't!" Our vehicle for change is our right to vote. Yes, we have a representative gov't, but they have lost sight of who they are actually representing - they are representing me! Jefferson wrote, "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." He did not say, "Life, Liberty and a Welfare state!" Get out to vote in the next election, make an educated vote, and vote for someone that has a true track record of protecting the rights of our citizens. First off, LTC West has shown the moral courage that most of America lacks. West stood up to his commander (COL Kevin Stramara)and the Army when they both tried to hang him out to dry. I served with LTC West in the 4ID DIVARTY and his commitment to those he serves is unshakeable.
I like this man and his comments. He is qualified and should be our President of the United States. He makes obama look like a kindergarden grade school boy and a illegal alien. I CANNOT agree with him more! I would hate to see another "civil war" in this country, however I would rather see that than see the country taken over by the radicals who threaten us, and I can't help but feel that some of the "enemy" is gaining control of our present government.

I wish he was running in MY State (NJ)! I'd vote for him with conviction, providing he really means all that he says. Too bad I feel a little skeptical about politians in general - they seem to talk a good game - but usually, that is just to get elected. VOTE FOR THIS GUY IF HE MEANS THIS!
There is one thing that many of you are overlooking; once elected to congress and serving ONE term they get their salary for life as retirement. If you turn the congress every two four or six years in a short time you won't be able to pay their retirement. They need to be on S.S. like the rest of us. Maybe then S.S. will get fixed.
