TV PRESS TOUR: 'Las Vegas' not dead yet
If you were angry that NBC’s “Las Vegas” ended on a cliffhanger, you’re not alone. Gary Scott Thompson, the show’s creator, wasn’t exactly thrilled, either.
“No one wanted to end that way,” he said in an interview following a press conference for his new “Knight Rider” series. “We wanted to go another season. We had a season mapped out, and we had a whole story mapped out.”
But he’s still not giving up hope for closure. “I’m talking to people right now about raising the money to do a feature (film) to resolve it.”
If that falls through, a joke that had gotten out of hand and made it into the news had him inviting series stars Josh Duhamel (Danny) and Molly Sims (Delinda) to walk through a “Knight Rider” scene holding the baby that was in jeopardy during what turned out to be the show’s final episode, just to put a happy ending on their story.
Thompson doesn’t think it will come to that. “To be honest, I would hate to give the people who canceled the show the satisfaction of just walking the other cast through for a resolution.”
But he is considering an episode of “Knight Rider” that could reunite some of the “Las Vegas” cast. “We’re thinking of a Las Vegas episode, because I own all the footage to ‘Las Vegas.’ And I’ve gotta figure out a way to make this show on a budget.”
If fans want more than that, Thompson said, they’ll have to remain vocal.
“The fans were very upset,” he said of NBC’s decision to cancel the series. “They started sending baby booties to (the network’s co-chairman of entertainment) Ben Silverman. They sent thousands and thousands. There were boxes outside his office. He called me three times and asked me to make them stop. And I’m, like, ‘Dude, you canceled it, not me.’ ”

I don't watch that much TV anymore because most of it is garbage. But I was hooked on Las Vegas and it was incredibly stupid of NBC to cancel the show. NBC must be run by a bunch of brain-dead monkeys...no wait, that would be an insult to monkeys. 30 million loyal viewers weren't good enough for them?? No wonder NBC is a dying network...and I sincerely hope it burns in hell.
