Bally chief named chairman of American Gaming Association

Bally Technologies Chief Executive Officer Richard Haddrill has been elected to a two-year term as chairman of the American Gaming Association.
The election took place in December at the organization's annual meeting.
Haddrill, who served two years as vice chairman, replaces Boyd Gaming Corp. CEO Keith Smith as the head of the board for the gaming industry's Washington, D.C.-based lobbying organization. MGM Resorts International Chairman and CEO Jim Murren was elected vice chairman.
"I am extremely confident that Dick and Jim will provide the AGA with the guidance and insight to best serve all of our members and help our industry take advantage of the new opportunities that will avail themselves in the coming year," American Gaming Association President Frank Fahrenkopf Jr., said in a statement.
Murren and Smith were re-elected to the association's board of directors for three-year terms, as were International Game Technology CEO Patti Hart and Shuffle Master Gaming CEO Gavin Isaacs. Larry Ruvo, senior managing director of Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada, was re-elected to a one-year term as an at-large director.
Adam Rosenberg, managing director and global head of the gaming group for Goldman Sachs & Co., was also elected as a director. Richard Byrne, CEO of Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., was designated by the board as a director-elect for the coming year.
