LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Friday denied an analyst's report that said the hotel-casino's casino operations director had been fired.
The report titled "Changes at Cosmopolitan Already" released Friday by the Union Gaming Group was quickly called inaccurate by Cosmopolitan officials. The report was released less than a month after Deutsche Bank AG opened its $3.9 billion property.
Public relations director Amy Rossetti said the report "was not accurate" and stressed that Cosmopolitan Vice President of Casino Operations John Zaremba had not been fired.
"I confirmed (it) with John Unwin, our CEO, and it's just not accurate," she said.
Union Gaming issued a note saying: "We understand that Cosmopolitan has let go of its head of gaming operations believing that life-to-date the property had underheld notably."
The note also said the change was a function of "extremely high table limits of $300,000 in conjunction with limited volume to absorb the large limits."

I wonder if the CEO even reads these comments. He should!! I went there last week for an hour and probably got bumped in the walkway about 6 times at 4pm in the afternoon. Man is it tight in there. The only thing missing on the walkway is the scarecrow, tinman, and the lion. Hey thats an idea. Have a wizard of Oz theme on Sundays. can i be the Scarecrow please? There is one common observation here Cosmo!? Everyone was expecting something different and the only thing different is the $25 tables, the $250 rooms, and the no-name bands headlining. You know how the movies sometimes become a phenomenon with no name actors sometimes instead of hiring the same old failures like Will Ferrill, and Seth Rogan? Because you need a fresh idea in business sometimes. You took all the failures from local casinos and put them in one special club. Politics doesn't pay this time and the failure is on your plate now Mr Ulwin.
I'm with you Stoneman. $25 tables at 11 am? That is just plain mismanagement. First of all, the 'day players' are in no mood to be betting $25 a hand. Lower it to $5 & $10. You will draw many more players and some of those may start bumping their bets, which will yield the same results. My guess is they use those stupid constant reshuffling machines too and pay 6-5 on blackjacks?
lets see table maximums in the area of 300k,thought they werent going for the hi rollers
I visit there frequently since my parents live in Henderson. While I am not a casino executive, I do have common sense. If a hotel was rescued from bankruptcy from the bank, I would think that the hotel should do everything possible to get the most people in it to gamble. I'm not the Rockefellers in terms of gambling, but I do have money to spend. I walked through the casino area on Monday December 27th around 11am and the casino floor was absolutely dead and the smallest minimum at the blackjack tables I saw was $25. You would think that if you wanted income you would drop your tables to $10 or even $5. While the hotel may not want the image of $5 blackjack, the upscale image without gamblers won't pay the bills. They haven't set them selves apart from the competition. I can get an upscale image with real action at the Venetian, Wynn and Bellagio.
Economic COLLAPSE coming...
Our military, law enforcement, and ELECTED OFFICIALS need to HONOR THEIR OATH TO THE U.S. CONSTITUTION!!!

we care, why????????????????????
Cosmopolitan is full of re-tread managers that have been bounced from many other casinos in town. I'm not surprised that Deutsche is keeping a close leash on this property, considering the billions of dollars they wasted buying it. They are probably kicking themselves right about now, since the numbers are poor in the first month, despite being prime time (New Year's and Christmas).
what?
Hey RJ, sounds like you need to get your facts straight before writting one the most confusing articles I have read.
If the memo says he's out, but the CEO of Cosmo says he's in, why even waste time writing this.
Dumb article.
i can't believe that rat dave pappas is still employed there. how is that scumbag still working there? amazing he has not been run out of town yet ... but it's coming.
