The operator of the Golden Nugget casinos signed an Internet gaming agreement with a European online gambling company and plans to launch a free play website later this year. In a joint statement Friday with Chiligaming, Golden Nugget Chairman Tilman Fertitta said the free play website positions the casino operator to compete in the U.S. market if Internet poker is legalized. Landry's Restaurants of Houston operates the Golden Nugget hotel-casinos in downtown Las Vegas, Laughlin and Atlantic City. Fertitta said the company spent nine months evaluating the online poker business. "We believe that online gaming is inevitable in the United States," Fertitta said. "Golden Nugget will be well positioned to compete when U.S. laws allow for online gaming." Chiligaming, which has offices in Malta, France and the United Kingdom, develops and operates multi-platform social games and gambling products. Company CEO Alexandre Dreyfus said the agreement with Golden Nugget positions the company for future online gaming developments. So what is the name of the new site ?
Is this really going to be a new, different free-play site, or just access to the same ZEN based game software with different graphics like is already available from Southpoint Hotel or the RJ websites?
Good move. Free play sites attract a huge number of players.
