The Union Village medical complex planned for Henderson has retained Penta Building Group as its general contractor, Penta said in a company statement released Wednesday.

Penta's scope of work on the project includes building the long-term acute-care and nursing facility, retail core and shell, parking structures, site infrastructure and landscape.

The 170-acre Union Village at U.S. Highway 95 and Galleria Drive is seen as a model of integrated health care with a hospital complex; residential, entertainment and specialty retail space; senior retirement community; and cultural arts center. It's expected to generate 17,000 jobs, both direct and indirect, and billions of dollars in tax revenues.
