Findlay-sponsored football clinic set for May 29

More than 100 of Nevada's top football student athletes will be invited to the 2011 Future Pro Five Combine and Youth Football Clinic May 29 at the Henderson International School in Las Vegas.

High school students athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their speed, strength and agility to gain exposure to collegiate-level coaches and scouts. Student athletes will compete in the one-day instruction-and-skills testing including the 40-yard dash, pro-agility shuttle, bench press, broad jump, vertical jump, three-cone drill, one-on-one drills and the seven-on-seven team competition.

The clinic will be instructed by AC Cashwell, former Oakland Raider wide receiver. Instructors will include Damon Mays, former Pittsburgh Steeler; Amp Lee, former North Carolina Panther; Jerome Evans, former New England Patriot and Muhammad Oliver, former Denver Bronco.

The clinic is presented by Findlay Toyota and is hosted by Philadelphia Eagle Michael Vick.

A Future Pro Youth Football Clinic will also be provided for third- and seventh-graders. The noncontact three-hour clinic will challenge experienced athletes to reach new goals, while building a solid foundation for newcomers to the game. Kids will learn to run, throw catch, defend, form block, form tackle and explode out of a stance with proper technique and improved speed. The focus is to develop basic motor skills, while gaining confidence and having fun.
