Southwest Medical Associates adds national accreditation
Tools
Southwest Medical Associates has become the first medical group in Nevada to achieve a Level 3 accreditation -- the highest level possible -- from the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home.
Southwest said in a statement that the PCMH accreditation program recognizes primary care providers that achieve patient-centered care by working in teams to coordinate and track care. The statement said Southwest has earned the accreditation by ensuring patients receive the right care when and where they need it, and in culturally sensitive ways that include use of appropriate languages.
"NCQA's Level 3 PCMH accreditation reflects our efforts to ensure Southwest Medical Associates patients receive exceptional, accessible treatment that is well-coordinated among everyone involved in their care," said Southwest Medical Associates division chief of adult medicine Dr. Nancy Yu, who led the medical home accreditation team. "This accreditation demonstrates that we are successfully making Southwest Medical Associates a true 'medical home' for our patients."
