Design center brings back introductory workshops, tours
Las Vegas Design Center has announced eight dates in 2012 for its Design Center 101 session.
The free Saturday events include a brief overview of the center, walking tour of the showrooms and complimentary coffee and breakfast bites.
The first session for 2012 will be held Saturday. Additional sessions are planned for March 24, April 28, May 19, June 9, Sept. 22, Oct. 20 and Nov. 10.
The tours are scheduled from 10:30-11:30 a.m. each day at the design center, located within World Market Center Las Vegas, 495 S. Grand Central Parkway, in downtown Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas is a year-round resource for design-seeking consumers and designers showcasing top names in fine furniture, decorative accessories, wall décor, lighting, floor coverings, fabrics and trim. There are more than 40 showrooms carrying hundreds of lines
The design center is open to the public Monday through Saturday. Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday.

Private tour of design center, interior design consult offered
For the month of February, Las Vegas Design Center has partnered with LuxDelux to offer area residents a special tour of the downtown facility and two-hour consultation with a professional interior designer.
The package, being sold for $440, includes private transportation to the design center, private champagne tour of the facility and lunch at Mundo, which offers haute Mexican cuisine at the facility.
The package can be purchased only at LuxDelux, https://luxdelux.com/users/sign_in. It is a member's only site, but it accepts new members daily. Although the tours are being sold only through Wednesday, they can be used through Aug. 12.
According to officials at the design center, the goal of the promotion is to let people know about all the center has to offer for a complete home redesign.
