Vegas Grand Prix

The Vegas Grand Prix was a Champ Car race held in Las Vegas on April 8, 2007. Phoenix-based DDB Ventures promoted the Las Vegas race and another Phoenix race. After undisclosed financial losses for the Las Vegas race held on Easter weekend, DDB canceled the Phoenix event and neither race is on the Champ Car World Series schedule release on Nov. 5, 2007. According to Jim Fruedenberg, who was the Vegas Grand Prix president and chief executive, "We did consider different options for returning to Vegas in '08; the tight timetable just didn't allow it to happen.

"We'd certainly consider returning to Vegas in the future, but really only under the right situation."
