BEST BET: Summer Jam to feature Jesse McCartney



Singer-songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney will headline the KLUC-FM, 98.5 Summer Jam 2009 at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway.

He will be joined by special guests Asher Roth, HardNox and other music artists.

    • Tickets for Summer Jam range from $25 to $45 and can be purchased online at www.HendersonLive.com or by calling UNLV Tickets at 739-3267. Gates open at 5 p.m.

    With the May 2008 release of "Departure" and its platinum single "Leavin'," McCartney's music represents a new pop/R&B hybrid. His recent album, "Departure: Recharged," includes four new tracks and a remix of "How Do You Sleep" featuring actor/rapper Ludacris.

    As an actor, McCartney earned two Emmy nominations for starring in the TV show "Summerland" on The WB. He also lent his voice to Theodore in the movie "Alvin & The Chipmunks" and "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel," set for release on Christmas Day. This spring, McCartney can be seen on ABC Family's "Greek," where he portrays football star Andy.
