    Lidia Bastianich will sign and discuss "Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy" at 2 p.m. Nov. 15 at Borders, 6521 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

    Phil Hellmuth will sign and discuss "Deal Me In: Twenty of the World's Top Poker Players Share the Heartbreaking and Inspiring Stories of How They Turned Pro" at 1 p.m. Monday at Barnes & Noble, 8915 W. Charleston Blvd.

    EVENTS

    The Vegas Valley Book Festival will feature readings and sessions beginning at 10 a.m. today at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St. The Vegas Valley Book Festival's closing keynote speaker E.L. Doctorow will discuss writing and his latest work "Homer & Langley: A Novel" at 7 p.m. today at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road (229-5431).

    Author Dr. William H. "Bob" Bailey" will discuss his book "Looking Up! Finding My Voice in Las Vegas" at 6:30 p.m. Friday at West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd. A book sale and signing will follow the presentation.

    A Jewish book sale will be at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The book sale will be part of the event "Sharing the Light -- A Musical Celebration of Chanukah & Peace" at 4 p.m.

    The Best Book You've Never Read book group meets the second Sunday of the month at 7 p.m. at Barnes & Noble, 8915 W. Charleston Blvd.

    Book Lovers' Bistro meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

    The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.

    The Rainbow Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

    The Murder in the Library group meets at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

    The Mystery Readers Book Club meets at 7:15 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

    The Malcolm Adult Book Chat meets at 4:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Lydia Malcolm Library, 2960 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson.

    OTHER ACTIVITIES

    The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.
