December 2Put on your holiday bonnet and ride a horse drawn carriage donned in LED holiday lights through remote trails at the Springs Preserve. The Springs Preserve celebrates the holiday season with its second Winter Lights Festival beginning Friday, November 28 and continuing through the end of the year.
December 3 Every Wednesday in December will bring a sleigh full of holly jolly frivolity to Town Square. Starting at 6 p.m. thru the 17th, take in the Holiday Nights & Lights Community Concert Series. This holiday concert series will feature local school and church choirs as well as community dance groups all performing live.
December 5 Soak up some Christmas cheer with a lighting spectacular at the 8th annual Gift of Light at Sunset Park. Through January 4th, you can drive through the valley’s biggest collection of twinkle lights.
December 7 It’s not Christmas in Las Vegas without a trip to Bellagio’s Botanical Gardens. Starting today, you can take in the sights of the season in this dreamy landscape of holiday highlights including a behemoth and bedecked Christmas tree.
December 8 You have all month to perfect your figure eight and triple axel at MonteLago Village’s floating ice skating rink at Lake Las Vegas. Skating passes are $12 per child and $15 per adult. Now go out and make Peggy Fleming proud.
December 10 Take in the aroma of gingerbread at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas’ annual Gingerbread Village. Featuring 20 gingerbread real estate properties and a giant working carousel made entirely of chocolate and sugar, it will be on display through December 25.
December 12 Get ready to stroll through a chocolate wonderland. It’s the time of year again when ethel’s Chocolates transforms its three-acre Botanical Cactus Garden into a wonderland of illuminated cacti pathways. Santa will be making appearances in the garden every Friday and Saturday evening through December 27.
December 13 Today you have two chances to get in the holiday spirit with the Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Pops II – A Christmas Celebration! Showing at both 2 and 8 p.m. at UNLV’s Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall, the performance will also feature the Las Vegas Master Singers and The University Children’s Chorale.
December 16 During December treat yourself and Mrs. Claus to Wynn Las Vegas’ interpretation of Bella Notte which includes an evening of seasonally inspired Italian cuisine at Stratta accompanied by a bottle of Wattle Creek Pinot Noir and a performance of aquatic spectacle La Rêve.
December 19 Need a big dose of ho, ho, ho? Then get tickets to “La Cage” at The Riviera starring The Strip’s favorite diva Frank Marino which will be open for the first time in 23 years during the Christmas holidays.
December 21 Snow in the desert? No it’s snow in Town Square. Expect snow flurries this December at Town Square where each show lasts 10 minutes and is choreographed to everyone’s favorite holiday music. Starts at 7 and 8 p.m. on Friday thru Sunday.
December 23 Arrrrggghhh, take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle! During December 21 – 24, take the kiddies to visit Santa at the Shipwreck. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with each paid admission children will receive a complimentary candy cane and a photo with Santa at Mandalay Bay’s Shark Reef.
December 25 Gather for a holiday brunch at Ceres restaurant at JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa and make memories with family and friends. From antipasti and an artisan cheese display to smoked salmon, prime rib, leg of lamb and maple bit ham, there will be something for everyone.
December 27 Engineer your way to the Fantasy Faire Midway at Excalibur to see “The Polar Express™ 4-D” which plays thru January 6. Based on the popular movie, this magical journey to the North Pole will come alive in an unforgettable multi-sensory adventure complete with faux snow.
December 30 Opportunity Village’s 17th annual Magical Forest closes today. So get your elf on and enjoy the funnel cakes, Alpine Slide, and even take a ride on the Forest Express. The event attracts more than 150,000 people each holiday season earning a spot as one of HGTV’s annual “Top Holiday Destinations.”
December 31Start humming Auld Lang Syne, there’s nothing like joining thousands of your closest friends on the Las Vegas Strip to ring in 2009.
