Brent Barrett, who starred in the title role of “Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular,” will headline a Las Vegas Philharmonic Pops Concert on March 21.The popular tenor will perform an array of Broadway hits in this third installment of the Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Pops Series for the 2008-2009 season, entitled “You and the Night and the Music”. In addition to the occasion’s ‘theme song’ the program will include such favorites as “They Call the Wind Maria,” “What Kind of Fool Am I,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and the Overture from Gypsy, as well as medleys from “Kiss Me Kate,” and, of course, “Phantom”.
Barrett’s impressive performance background spans the U.S. In addition to his Las Vegas success, Barrett received a Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for his role as Billy Flynn in the Tony Award-winning hit “Chicago – the Musical” and also reprised the role on Broadway.
Barrett has soloed with the Boston Pops, Minnesota Opera, Opera Pacific, Michigan Opera, and Kentucky Opera as well as at the New York Festival of Song at Carnegie Hall. He has also been featured with the London Sinfonetta at the Royal Festival Hall. Barrett also holds two solo albums to his credit—The Alan Jay Lerner Album and the Kander and Ebb Album. Since being founded in 1998, the Las Vegas Philharmonic has grown to become the third largest arts organization in the state and six-time recipient of the Best Performing Arts Group award. A nationally recognized orchestra, the Philharmonic entertains growing audiences with a continuously expanding program. The Philharmonic has created an extraordinary impact on the cultural and educational life of Southern Nevada and will find a new home in the Smith Center for the Performing Arts slated to open in 2011.

Prices range from $25 to $65. Tickets for seniors (62+) and students (18 and under) cost $22.50 to $58.50. Another benefit for the studious: student rush tickets are available one hour prior to the concert at 50% off the regular prices.
