Incredible video of horse trying to will another horse back to life

This incredible footage taken near Westcliffe, Colorado shows a two-year-old horse trying to keep its 26-year-old pasture mate alive. It's the story of young Skids' desperate actions after his friend, Hank, collapsed. Skids tried everything to save Hank: He bit his ears and mane in an attempt to lift the ailing old horse to its feet. At one point Skids tenderly pawed Hank's rib cage to console him. He nibbled Hank's lips. When Hank kept falling back down, Skids became more forceful, at one point tapping Hank's head with a hoof. When Hank rallied to a sitting position, Skids used his head to try to bulldoze Hank up to his feet. After owner, Randy Runnalls, and his 9-year-old son, Skyler, arrived at Jan Roberts' ranch, they called a vet and put  an agitated Skids in a  pen. Inside the corral, the  distraught young horse bucked and acted up, apparently unhappy that he couldn't be at the side his fallen friend. (Our thanks to Paul Wenke of Westcliffe for alerting us when Hank collapsed.)
