As part of the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards next month, viewers are invited to vote on the most memorable moments in television history. Forty "moments" -- 20 dramatic and 20 comedic -- are in the running. Fans can watch clips and vote for the favorites online until Sept. 15. The top five vote-getters in each category will be presented during the show on Sept. 21, with the two winning moments unveiled just before the year's outstanding drama and comedy series are named. Cool immortalized with bronze in Milwaukee
The Fonz has gone bronze.
No, not an Olympic competition for the coolest (he'd get the gold in that, anyway). Nope, "Happy Days" character Arthur Fonzarelli is now immortalized as a statute along the Milwaukee River. Most of the cast was on hand for the debut Tuesday, including Henry Winkler himself. Also in attendance were the show's creator, director and producer, Garry Marshall and actors Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams from the spin-off "Laverne & Shirley." Ron Howard, who played Richie Cunningham, was filming a movie and was unable to make it. Though no scenes were filmed there, "Happy Days" took place in Milwaukee during its TV run from 1974 to 1984.
Wahlberg single again
All those now-soccer moms who might be turning out to see the New Kids on the Block reunion tour can rest assured that Donnie Wahlberg • is back on the market. The actor-singer-producer and his wife, Kim Fey, filed for divorce on Aug. 13 in Los Angeles and Ventura County, Calif., reports People. Fey cited irreconcilable differences and is seeking sole legal and physical custody of their sons Alexander Xavier, 15, and Elijah Hendrix, 7, allowing Wahlberg visitation rights. The couple, both 39, married in August 1999 and separated in January.
Songbirds unite for benefit record
Fifteen of the hottest female singers will join voices to record "Just Stand Up," which hits airwaves and iTunes on Sept. 2. The song features Mariah Carey , Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Ashanti, Natasha Bedingfield, Keyshia Cole, Ciara, Leona Lewis, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood. All sales of the single will benefit cancer research. The 15 will share the stage to perform the song live Sept. 5 during the "Stand Up to Cancer" television special, set to air simultaneously on ABC, NBC and CBS.
The end of the line for Metallica frontman
If nature lovers near San Rafael, Calif., were Metallica fans before, they probably aren't now. The band's frontman James Hetfield has earned their ire by building a 300-foot-long fence on his property that blocks access to a popular trail. The fence was erected within the past several weeks, closing a path long left open for hikers, bikers and horseback riders despite being on private property. A contractor for Hetfield said vandalism of a smaller gate and other property along the trail prompted the move. Metallica publicists did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
