Shakespeare Festival
brings Bard to CSN
Dream a little dream of "Dream" this weekend.
Happily refusing to keep the Bard all to themselves and bottled up in their own state, the folks from the Utah Shakespeare Festival bring a touring production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to the College of Southern Nevada's North Las Vegas campus.
Taking time out from the production's "2012 Shakespeare in the Schools" program in which the show continues to be performed for middle- and high-school students through Feb. 10, the touring ensemble will crank it up for the community at 8 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Nicholas J. Horn Theater.
Frolic -- as much as you can seated quietly and attentively in your seats -- with the surreal cast of characters Shakespeare assembled for this comic romp, including Theseus, Hippolyta, Puck, Bottom, Oberon, Titania and those frisky fairies.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students at the theater at 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave. Purchase tickets or get information by calling 651-5483.

Soho artist interacts
with visitors at Cosmo
Pay him a visit -- he's happy to have company.
Artists mostly work in solitude, but keeping with the style of the P3 Studio inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Curtis Kulig, its latest artist-in-residence, welcomes artistically curious visitors to watch him work until his Vegas stay ends Feb. 14.
Described by the professional enthusiasts of the resort's publicity department as "an art sensation," Kulig is recognized in both the artistic and commercial worlds. His "Love Me" series, which began as stickered messages on the streets of New York, has since spread to Los Angeles, Paris and Tokyo. Group shows have highlighted his work in New York, London and Miami, he's collaborated with HBO, Levis and Nike, and his work can be glimpsed every week during the intro to "Saturday Night Live."
Transplanting the creative mojo of his Soho loft to Las Vegas, Kulig will entertain visitors from 6 to 11 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays at the hotel at 3708 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
