NORM: O.J. unwelcome at several hotels

Cirque du O.J. returns this week, with the usual cast of quirky characters and a big question.

In the city with a gazillion hotel rooms, where is O.J. Simpson going to stay?

The disgraced NFL Hall of Famer and his fellow suspects face pretrial hearings on Thursday and Friday on charges stemming from a September incident at Palace Station.

Simpson has worn out his welcome at several hotels.

  • Corporate casino giants MGM Mirage and Harrah's have joined the Palms in preferring that O.J. and his media circus go elsewhere.

"We would be unable to accept a hotel reservation from (him) because of the operational challenges that the crush of media would likely present," MGM Mirage's Alan Feldman, an executive vice president, told Newsweek freelancer Steve Friess.

Harrah's Vice President Michael Weaver told Friess that the decision to allow a celebrity to check in "depends on whether or not there is any positive public relations to be obtained by it." In this case, Weaver said, the answer is a pretty firm "no."

Before Simpson was jailed in connection with the sports memorabilia grab at Palace Station, he was staying at the Palms.

It was "highly unlikely he'd stay here again," Palms owner George Maloof said in September. "We don't need the drama. It was a disruption and a hindrance to our other guests."

    WYNN'S HOME SOLD

The 18th-fairway home at Shadow Creek formerly occupied by Steve and Elaine Wynn has been sold for a record-matching $17.5 million.

MGM Mirage sold the home last month through Shapiro & Sher Group at Prudential, Florence Shapiro and Ivan Sher confirmed Sunday. The buyer was not identified.

A member of the Wal-Mart family bought a MacDonald Highlands home for $17.5 million earlier this year, with $1.5 million in furniture added over and above the selling price.

The $17.5 million topped the previous record price of $14.5 million paid about a year ago for the 22,000-square-foot mansion at the estate of former strip club king Michael Galardi.

The Wynns lived for years at Shadow Creek, the exclusive course built by Steve Wynn as a perk for high rollers when he owned The Mirage. Only two homes are on the North Las Vegas course.

but,, OJ has already admitted to commiting most of these crimes,,,,,,, and has at least 4 witnesses against him,, two of them stating for sure their were guns involved. I don't think the court system can let him off this time unless they come up with some bull shirt Like "they forgot to read him his rights".....
Their is no way he can be found not guilty with that evidence. BUT,,,,,,, They had a mountain of evidence 13 years ago didn't they????
Can he be so stupid as to think that holding two people hostage in a hotel room while taking items from them is leagle????? even if the items belong to him,,,,,, they commited kidnaping by not letting any one leave the room. and OJ can't say that he didnt say it..... the recording is plain as it can be.

Look at your name,,,, "ANONYMOUS" now,,,,, who needs to come out in the open???? Tell me this,,, who is to make the decision as to a comment "sucking"????? only the one that is reading it at the time. It's only an opinion. Opinions are like a holes "every body has their own". I kinda liked Mook's Suggestion.
If OJ had committed suicide before he went to court for the murder of his "trophy" Nicole, and her drug dealing boy friend,,,, it would have saved the state a lot of money and we wouldn't have had all of this OJ hype over the last 13 1/2 years.

KKKracker wrote on November 17, 2007 10:56 PM: If they Drop OJ's bail, LVPD will give him a room and board,,, free of charge. He can even get the days counted off of his sentence. And From the looks of it,,,,,, he will need every day he can get, cause I don't think he will get out of this one like he did with all of the others.

KKKracker wrote on November 17, 2007 10:52 PM: [John Holmes] OJ had his chance a decade ago,,,, and many other times since then,,,, How many more chances do you think he should get????
I just hope justice prevails and If they do find him guilty this time, they place him in prison like and with normal felons, not with all of the special privileges that celebrities, sports icons, other wealthy people etc usually get.
Better yet, lets have some mid evil gladiator death matches with some of the first degree murderers rapists etc. That will get rid of some of the over population that we have to pay to incarcerate for their worthless life. geeeee we can sell tickets to pay for the correction of those that will get out.
    TICKETS ANY ONE???

OJ at least is out in the open...you are cowardly, and most like a loser yourself. Suggesting suicide for anyone...your comments suck
