Western High School student Samuel Larios, 17, was killed in a drive-by shooting as he exited a car on Yale Street, near Decatur Boulevard and Washington Avenue. The shooting took place at 1:35 p.m., shortly after the school day ended.

Henderson police shot and killed a man outside an elementary school after he shot and killed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. Twenty-seven children in an after-school program were inside Galloway Elementary School when shots rang out about 4:50 p.m. Driven by jealousy, the gunman was searching for the ex-girlfriend, police said.

Clark County school police fired a shot into the door of a vehicle driven by Matthew Johnathan Austin in the parking lot of Palo Verde High School minutes after school was dismissed. Police said Austin, who wasn't a student at the school, was driving erratically, nearly ran down an officer and refused to stop at the direction of police.

Bullets hit a school bus filled with middle school students shortly after school was let out as the bus approached an intersection near Carey Avenue and Civic Center Drive in North Las Vegas. None of the 41 students on board was hurt, but the bus driver suffered minor cuts after being showered with broken glass, police said.

A 16-year-old Desert Pines High School student was shot in the leg during a melee between black and Hispanic students across the street from the school, near Sandhill and Bonanza roads. Police said the student had agreed to meet another student after school for a showdown.

Clark County School District police arrested a 16-year-old boy who fired several shots in the parking lot of Legacy High School, near Simmons Street and Centennial Parkway, during a football game. A fight broke out in the stands and about 15 youths exited the stadium. The teen then fired several rounds, but no one was hurt, police said.

A gunman opened fire on a school bus at Alexander Road and H Street, hitting the bus three times but leaving the 34 high schoolers aboard it unscathed. Two 17-year-old students from Canyon Springs High School were arrested in connection with the shooting.

An argument in a convenience store parking lot spilled onto the campus of Western High School, bringing gunfire with it. The shooting in the school parking lot wounded two freshmen, who were treated at a hospital and released.

Six people, including four Mojave High School students, were wounded during a shooting at a school bus stop about 2 p.m. Eighteen-year-old Nicco Tatum was indicted by a grand jury last month on attempted murder and other charges. Two other teens and a woman were also indicted on charges related to the crime.

A Palo Verde High School freshman was killed in a drive-by shooting while walking home from school. A 16-year-old Palo Verde sophomore was arrested on Saturday and charged with one count of murder with a deadly weapon, three counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon and four counts of discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle.
