An attorney representing District Judge Elizabeth Halverson in a civil lawsuit is asking to withdraw as her attorney because she hasn't paid him.

He also cited communication problems between them.

  • Attorney Robert Spretnak on Thursday stated in court papers that Halverson hasn't paid him $6,213 and hasn't cooperated with him in the case.

Spretnak did not return a call for comment Friday and Halverson couldn't be reached.

Spretnak is representing Halverson in a lawsuit between the judge and Ileen Spoor, who formerly worked for Halverson.

Spoor is suing Halverson for defamation. She accused Halverson of lying about her to the media by saying Spoor illegally fixed tickets.

Halverson has countered that the case should be dismissed because a judge has the right to state her professional opinion and has a sworn duty to report and discuss potentially unlawful activity.

Halverson was suspended from the bench with pay.

The Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission has accused her of professional incompetence and creating a hostile work environment, among other charges.

Define "Everyone".. You seem pretty dumb to me..

I am not everyone. I don't think Halverson posts here. I doubt she even reads this dribble.

Funny you talk about her "below-Par performance". Yet if you had ANY brains and actually read the court documents you would see that Chuck Short, RJC Administrator said there had been NO complaints about Halverson's work and that she had handled as many cases as any other judge and her work was completely up to par.

    Idiot.

I'm not an dumb as someone who doesn't know how to to post. Yes, Elizabeth, go back please and drink out of California's public trough. I never said I believe the RJ. My beliefs come straight from working in the field and seeing her below-par performance. Everyone knows she posts on here.

Hey, Elizabeth.. I really DO think it's time you come back to SF.. these folks in Vegas are a wreck.

From their vigilante tactics to their down right ignorance it is very scary.

These folks are think they are important.. the big fish in a small, small, small pond mentality.

You can do better than stay in a po dunk place like vegas. LOL

robbedofbrains wrote on March 02, 2008 09:48 AM: Hey Yep... could you really be as dumb as you sound?

Considering several of the neigbors got together to discuss these slumlords that were trying to push out old tenents, trust me, we know the inside scoop.

There might be more to the story.

yep wrote on March 01, 2008 10:14 PM: Come on, like a neighbor knows all that "inside" info. Nice to see you posting again Halverson. Guess you have to have something to do.

Maggie wrote on March 01, 2008 06:45 PM: This article is a waste of paper. Again the RJ just throws something out there to keep the ball rolling against Judge Halverson. What real facts do they present in the situation. Please don't go back to sleeping on the Bench or calling her staff names. I know factually of Judges who have slapped clerks through the face, pulled their hair, called their Marshal's an idiot and and every other word coming from their mouth was "F...

As for these comments that criticize her appearance, shame on you. Isn't that called. "calling the kettle black". Obviously you don't believe in the phrase, "What goes around, comes around, 2 fold". So inmature.

In some opinions she may be seen as incompetent. But,reflect back to the lengthy delay and cost of the RJC. The design defects, the poor construction, elevator's not working, no heat in the building and so on.

And who was included on that oversight committee, Judge Kathy Hardcastle and soon to be jobless (hoorah) Chuck Short. Do you see some incompetence here. I do, my taxes went up for their failure to perform their job.
And how many kickbacks do you think they may have received.

Gee, RJ get with the program. This is a Rag paper, owned and operated for the benefit of the political officials.

Ms Morrison may be it's time you look at retirement or better yet you can be Hardcastle's assistance. Sadly, Sandra Thompson must be looking down on all this and thinking heaven is a better place. Ms Thompson had guts and balls. Something you won't find at the RJ or RJC

Vindictive wrote on March 01, 2008 05:48 PM: Looks like Lulu Hogg keeps on burning her bridges. This beached whale keeps on pouring fuel on the fire of judiciary incompetence. Who in the hell is SHE to sit in judgement of others?

As for you, RobbedOfBrains, don't go telling "Robbed" and the rest of the R-J readers that we are ignorant and don't know what we are talking about. You may claim to be a party to the "real" situation in Frisco, but we are getting our information from what the R-J has printed previously. If you've got a problem with that info., I suggest you - 1. Get some time on the Pond here at LVRJ.com before attacking anyone on their info. - 2. Go after the R-J editors if you believe their reporting has been in error, and - 3. Change your pen name from RobbedOfBrains to $h*tForBrains. You Californians think you know everything. Now beat it.
