NORM: Walker says he was in his room

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker told a Web site Tuesday that he was knocked unconscious at gunpoint in his Bellagio hotel room and abducted.

TheDirty.com said Walker agreed to an interview to clear up rumors that the robbery was connected to his champagne-spraying at Tryst nightclub at Wynn Las Vegas and Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel.

  • "I was just back at my room, and at about 5:30 in the morning, I got a knock at the door," he told the Web site. "I opened it, and three guys with guns were there. They cracked me in the head a few times, knocking me unconscious. They then robbed me of everything I had; my watch, money, everything. Somehow they got me to a car and dropped me off in the street. That's what happened."

Walker was to be interviewed Tuesday night by Las Vegas police, his second session with authorities. A statement by the NFL star was in the works for today, police indicated.

In the interview with the Web site, Walker rejected reports that the incident was tied to spraying boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his entourage. Mayweather and his crew were seated near Walker at Body English early Monday.

Walker had showered numerous bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne on the crowd at Tryst after arriving about 3:45 a.m. Sunday, Vegas Confidential learned Tuesday. He showed up early Monday at Body English and ordered 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose champagne, the same amount he requested at Tryst.

According to the Hard Rock public relations department, Walker left Body English between 3 and 3:30 a.m., not 6:30 a.m., which is the time I cited in a Web report based on information from a Body English executive.

Walker remained in Sunrise Hospital on Tuesday with a moderate concussion and a fractured eye socket.

The Milwaukee Sentinel Journal reported Tuesday that Las Vegas police said he was robbed of $3,000 in cash and $100,000 in jewelry, including a large jewel-encrusted watch. The Milwaukee paper said police indicated the robbers put him in a car and beat him.

If there is a connection to Walker's champagne-spraying actions, it wouldn't be the first time trouble followed him after the bubbly flew into a crowd.

Eighteen months ago, he was with some Denver Broncos teammates when fellow wide receiver Brandon Marshall and Marshall's cousin drenched some patrons during a New Year's Eve party in Denver.

According to published reports, some gang members took offense and confronted the Broncos players, who left the club and drove off in a limo.

A short time later, a drive-by shooting left Walker's friend, Broncos defensive back Darrent Williams, dead from gunshot wounds. Williams died in Walker's arms.

Representatives from seven Las Vegas nightclubs told me Tuesday they do not permit champagne to be sprayed because of the potential problems.

"It's just lighting the fuse," a club operator said. "Things can flare up quick."

Another club executive said, "We consider it the same as throwing your drink on someone. When it happens at our club, they are escorted out immediately."

There is no way that the "Robbers" jacked Javon Walker in his room, and then dragged him thru the hotel and out to a car... there would be absolutely no reason to do that if they had already supposedly robbed him of everything!

I'd bet almost anything that he ran out of cocaine, and was out in the streets trying to by a bag of blow; it was 5:30am. Unfortunately for him, he got himself jacked in the alley. Anyone who has been to Vegas or AC to "party" knows that this is very common when people try and score on the corner."

Well said Scott, I agree 100%. I just can't believe he would try to tell such a pathetic story to cover it up!!He obviously is oblivious!!

So, obvious his "running" his mouth will soon become perjury.

He is hiding something. The question is what ?

Bob wrote on June 18, 2008 05:06 PM: They close down the underage clubs here in LV and Henderson, citing too many disturbances. But in Las Vegas people get shot at strip clubs and start trouble in these overpriced "See me" night clubs and nothing is done. Pac Man Jones had bullets flying in one adult club, and last month there was a police standoff at another adult club. According to the Police logic here in town, WE MUST CLOSE DOWN THESE CLUBS, ....oh I forgot Money Talks and BS walks.
    Las Vegas sucks!
