McCain to return to Nevada for fundraiser

Republican presidential candidate John McCain is scheduled to return to Nevada later this month for a fundraiser at Lake Tahoe.

The luncheon on July 29 will be held at the Incline Village home of Bob and Jan Davidson, philanthropists and developers of educational software. Co-hosting the event are T.J. Day and Skip Avansino, according to an invitation.

  • A noon VIP reception is open to those who raise or contribute $33,100, while the 12:30 p.m. luncheon can be attended for $1,000, or for $2,300, including a photo with the candidate.

The maximum amount an individual can contribute to a presidential candidate under federal law is $2,300. However, the invitation states that money raised at the Tahoe event will be split between McCain's campaign and several other Republican Party committees.

As of Monday, the campaign had not yet scheduled any appearances by McCain that would be accessible to the non-paying public to coincide with the visit.

McCain last visited Nevada on June 25, giving a speech about energy in Las Vegas and holding a fundraiser that reportedly took in more than $2 million.

There are plenty of rich, elitist Democrats. A recent survey I saw found those with household incomes below $25,000 and above $100,000 favor Obama while those in the middle support McCain. The middle class, stuggling with the things you mention, can not afford Obama tax increases.

Not the people that stress about $4 gallon of gas. Not the people that are working 2 jobs just to pay for the gas to get them to their jobs. To pay the crazy home loans of all our upside down homes. No I guess at that cost he is only representing the elite the gas company owners that want $4 gas for 4 more years.
