Romney to stump in Nevada for McCain

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will be in Nevada next week to campaign for Republican presidential candidate John McCain, according to Republican announcements.

Romney, a one-time competitor with McCain for the GOP nomination who overwhelmingly won the Nevada Republican caucuses in January, will hold a rally for McCain at the Henderson Pavilion at 4 p.m. Wednesday, the campaign announced in an e-mail. Romney is considered a top contender for McCain's vice presidential selection, which McCain is not expected to announce until late next week.

David wrote on August 22, 2008 09:44 AM: Review Journal Editor,

Mark James is right and I stand corrected. The sentence should have been written "Romney, who among other things has great experience cleaning up corruption and making organizations profitable as he demonistrated over and over again at Bain Capital and the 2002 Winter Olympics, will be visiting Nevada while Democrats hold their national convention in Denver."

In hind sight I wouldn't have commented on your error and Joe might still like me!

David wrote on August 22, 2008 09:34 AM: Joe, the original article was about the Presidential campaign! When the Review Journal mentioned Mitt Romney's faith it allowed (encouraged) you to express your anti-mormon feelings! A completely different topic distracting you and others from the Presidential campaing...

Again you helped me make my point that it was inapropriate for the Review Journal to bring up one person's faith and not everyone's. Tell us what Church everyone goes to or leave it out of the news. The sentence should have read "Romney will be visiting Nevada while Democrats hold their national convention in Denver." That was my point, period!

Joe, I am sorry you had a sleepless night! It was not my intent to turn this into a religious battle of misunderstanding. I hope the Editor of the Review Journal will apologize to you and try to keep religious bias out of their reporting in the future!

joe wrote on August 22, 2008 01:01 AM: I believe all truths are backed by proof. Maybe this will help you "David" and those who doubt me.

Joseph Smith’s Freemasonry beginnings: (History of the Church, Vol.4, Ch.32, p.552).

Joseph Smith talking about Quakers on the moon: (Young Woman's Journal, Vol.3, p.263).

Brigham Young preaching God / Mary intercourse: (Journal of Discourses Vol. 2, p.268 & Journal of Discourses Vol. 8 p. 115).

Mormons can become gods themselves: (Doctrine and Covenants, Section 132, verses 19-32).

God lives on “Kolob” and counsel of gods: (Book of Abraham - lds.org: http://scriptures.lds.org/abr/3/3).

One last thing, here’s an interesting sermon given by Joseph Smith in History of the Church Vol. 6 pages 408-409: “God is in the still small voice. In all these affidavits, indictments, it is all of the devil–all corruption. Come on! ye prosecutors! ye false swearers! All hell, boil over! Ye burning mountains, roll down your lava! for I will come out on the top at last. I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet . . . “

Again, I encourage you to verify what I have written. Most of this can be found on lds.org.

joe wrote on August 22, 2008 12:26 AM: And actually "Mark James", I voted for Romney. I don't vote for candidates based on their religious views or beliefs, I research their "track records" and believe Romney was the best qualified candidate out of those I had to choose from. Mine was simply a response to "David" asking others to find out what Mormons truly believe, and I wrote some of what Mormons truly believe (whether they know it or not).

And I find it interesting that you find the truth so boring (ZZZZZzzzzz). My story may seem boring to you, but it's the same story thousands of people who do their own thinking have with the LDS church.

joe wrote on August 22, 2008 12:09 AM: You Mormon defenders are the same. You attack me but not my message because you know I speak the truth. I especially like your comments "Nate", you try deflecting my truths with a fairy tale about Mormons' having horns. "David" took it upon himself to throw out the challenge for others to find out more about what the LDS church believes in, I just saved them some time.

I was a member of the LDS church for over 30 years and was one of it's biggest defenders. Nothing I wrote in my post was fantasy or made-up, they are all factual truths I read in the LDS church's own scriptures, books, and website while trying to answer what I believed were false accusations against the church. I was once like "David" until I took it upon myself to learn what the LDS church tries hiding from it's members.

"David" keeps throwing out how those who disagree with him help to make his point. Well, "David" made my point that most LDS members don't know thier own church's history when he wrote: "By the way, where did you get your information about the LDS Church? Was it from an LDS Church member or one of the Missionaries? Perhaps it was from anti-mormon literature...". You don't realize it's from the LDS church's own sources "David".

I encourage you all to read "History of the Church" by Joseph Smith, and "Journal of Discourses" by Brigham Young (both available at Deseret Book or view online at the LDS church's official website: lds.org). If you do visit the LDS church website, go to the geneology links and type in Joseph Smith's name, it lists his multiple wives and their ages. Read D&C section 132 closely. Those are my anti-Mormon sources "David"

Nate wrote on August 21, 2008 07:24 PM: I am Mormon and I think Reid and Gibbons are scum. When Romney was in the race I felt McCain was (and still is) the right candidate.
Oh and joe I am surprised you mentioned nothing of the horns mormons hide on their heads and the fact that we kidnap young woman and hold them captive in our temples.

Mark James wrote on August 21, 2008 06:51 PM: The reason Romney was not nominated was due to this type of reporting. Why is there never any mention of his accomplishments.
Norrow minded people like joe will never set aside their biggottet views, and in this case it means we are left with a less qualified candidate.

And joe, not need to respond I'll do it for you
Joe Smith, Polygamy, I was a deffender of the church until it let me down, Book of Mormon false, I don't like fat judges......ZZZZZZZzzzzzz
