FATAL ARGUMENT: Woman dies after stabbing

Suspect turns herself in after fleeing scene at Bally's

An argument between two women in the reception area at Bally's turned deadly early Friday when one of them stabbed the other in the throat and fled.

Las Vegas police said the 22-year-old victim was arguing with two other women when they walked into the main entrance of the hotel-casino about 6 a.m.

  • After being stabbed, the victim managed to walk, trailing blood, out the west entrance about 75 feet toward the valet parking kiosk before collapsing.

She was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she died. Her identity was not available late Friday.

The suspect fled the scene but turned herself in about five hours later, according to police.

Latrovia Reed, a 23-year-old Milwaukee woman, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of murder with a deadly weapon. She was being held without bail.

Jail records show she also was being held on a bench warrant for an earlier prostitution charge.

At Bally's, portable curtains were placed around the crime scene, and the valet entrance was cordoned off with yellow tape while police looked for clues.

Police spokesman Jose Montoya said investigators had not pinned down a motive. The women were not guests at the hotel-casino.

Montoya said a knife was used in the attack, but he didn't know whether it had been recovered by police.

The hotel reopened the west entrance and valet area at 10:50 a.m., allowing puzzled tourists to enter the main revolving door and other glass doors that flank it, pulling their wheeled suitcases.

Bally's officials turned over video surveillance tapes that, along with an audio tape of a 911 call, are being reviewed by police.

Bally's spokeswoman Celena Haas said company officials were fully cooperating with the investigation. She had no further comment.

He received a life sentence, but he is the reason I became pro death penalty. He was a former employer who had been fired in the days previous to the murder. They found him in a casino gambling the money that he had killed one of the truly most beautiful people God ever graced this planet with. It has been 13 years and 3days, and I am crying as I type this

The class is gone. The whole strip scene has become a nightmare. Too much congestion, out of control people, greed everywhere.

I love Vegas, but you won't find me on the Strip.

By the way, does Vegas have a Planning Commission or can anybody build anything they want there?

I believe her name was Lisa Sadie a college student. She was employed by the hotel and the suspect who was also an employee of the hotel was arrested at another casino gambling several hours later. I wanted to mention her because I was at the scene that day and although we had many homicides that year she sticks in my head because she was just a kid from Texas just starting out. It was such a tragic ending for this young life.

A Hooker stabs a tourist in the neck and she dies after she staggers outside of the lobby at Bally's. Since she technically died outside of the lobby, why was Bally's mentioned at all?
Using the Harrahs Method, does that mean I can no longer purchase a Review Journal Newspaper inside of any Bally's properties?

The folks at Crazy Horse 2 at least had the decency of dragging their victims into the street, or onto the railroad tracks before calling the coroner. What has this town come to? UNREAL! Shame on you RJ!
By the way, CONGRATULATIONS to the Crazy Horse 2 and Mr. Rizzilo for your
brand new liquor license that was issued yesterday. That City Council has once again RISEN from the dead, on behalf of the dead, to once again show all of us that MONEY has nothing to do with their decision making process. Not since they gave Mike Mc Donald 20+ million Dollars for his FUTURE Failed Development have we seen such BOUGHT and PAID for POLITICS. FBI, we need your help immediately. Call us when your done with your LAP DANCE.
Dario Herrera at least did it right.
