Man is arrested in fatal stabbing

A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death Sunday after a confrontation with a former roommate, Las Vegas police said.

A suspect, in his late 40s, was arrested by police. His name was not released. The victim's name also was withheld.

  • Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said the stabbing occurred at 7:13 p.m. at a residence in the 2100 block of Birch Leaf Circle, near Nellis and Lake Mead boulevards.

    Roberts said the victim was at home with his girlfriend and left to go to the store. When he returned, the victim was confronted by the suspect. The two men argued before the victim was stabbed.

    Roberts said police had not determined a motive late Sunday.
