Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama will return to Nevada next week with a visit to Reno on Tuesday, his campaign announced.

No further details of the campaign visit were made public Thursday. It will be Obama's 18th trip to Nevada during the past year and a half of the campaign, and his second this month.

Last week, Obama visited Elko and Las Vegas, holding a rally at Cashman Field and giving a speech that blistered his opponent, Republican John McCain, on the economy.

McCain also is headed to Northern Nevada next week. He's scheduled to be in Reno on Thursday.

Meanwhile, President Bush is scheduled to be in Las Vegas on Thursday and Reno on Friday.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a former Republican presidential candidate, is headed to Las Vegas on Thursday as well. He's scheduled to hold a campaign rally for Rep. Jon Porter at noon at Boulder City High School, according to Porter's campaign.

That evening, Romney is headed to Elko to stump for McCain.

Police believe deaths were murder-suicide

A husband and wife were found dead in their home Thursday in what is believed to be a murder-suicide, Las Vegas police said.

Police were called to a residence at 3085 Casey Drive, near Tropicana Avenue and Pecos Road, at 5:10 p.m.

Metropolitan Police Department Homicide Lt. Lew Roberts said the couple's son discovered his parents in a back bedroom, dead from gunshot wounds.

The couple's identities were not released by police.

Roberts said Thursday evening that police had not determined the motive.

"At this point, there's no indication they were ill," Roberts said. "There's no indication they had financial troubles."

Final OK delayed for military-style academy

Clark County School Board members voiced support for a proposed military-style academy Thursday, but delayed approving a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Marine Corps until they could get more information.

The Clark County School District school would be dedicated to the Marines Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. It would open next year on the campus now occupied by Biltmore Continuation High School, near Cashman Field.

School Board Member Ruth Johnson said at the meeting she wanted more details about the costs involved and more time to reassure the public that the school would not be used for military recruitment.

The memorandum of understanding will be reconsidered by the board on Thursday.

Shirtless missionary calendar back for 2009

A dozen Mormon missionaries are again taking off their trademark white shirts for a calendar that seeks to strip away church stereotypes.

The 2009 version of the Men on Mission calendar was released Thursday -- two months after its creator was excommunicated by leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for producing this year's calendar.

Chad Hardy was excommunicated July 13 for conduct unbecoming a member.

The 12 men pose shirtless in black suit slacks.

The 2008 calendar generated $5,000 for the models' favorite charities.

The 2009 calendar includes a disclaimer that it is not associated with or endorsed by the Salt Lake City-based church.
