Boy stabbed at Chaparral High School

A freshman boy was stabbed three times by another student Thursday in the lunchroom of Chaparral High School, according to Lt. Ken Young of the Clark County School District school police.

The victim was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center where he was treated for injuries that were not life threatening, Young said.

  • The suspect, also a freshman boy, was taken into custody by Las Vegas police, who are investigating the case at the request of school police. The incident took place shortly after noon.

Information on possible charges faced by the suspect was not immediately available, Las Vegas police said. Police did not disclose names because the boys are minors.

Because of the incident, the east region school at 3850 Annie Oakley Drive were to make counselors available today to any students requesting their services, a district spokesman said.

The stabber told him not to say anything but he did so that's why he got stabbed. I got this information from a bunch of football players who witnessed this and I know they're not lying because even the teachers heard this

The youngman that got stabbed yes I admit he did not deserve to be stabbed but he should have been smart enough not to threatin the other individual to a point where he could no longer take it the youg man that got stabbed was always bullying they other idividual and makeing certain comments directing towards him around campus I strongly believe that this situtaion could have been solved differtly but this is the way it had to happened and you people who do not know the full story need to stop commenting saying that us minoors today have no respect.
    You know nothing about us.

The young man that stabbed the other young man was nothing but a polite respectable student who just snapped after takeing the other individuals emotional abbuse for so long.

and yes to answer your qeustion I am a Chapparal fresman who personaly witnessed they event..

But no one knows the fullstory.
I am the boy who did the stabbings sister. The boy who got stabbed had made numerous threats to kill my little brother and beat him up.

On the day of this event this boy sucker punched my lilttle brother and then continued to beat him. right after the first punch my brother tried to run out of the cafeteria but couldnt make it.

Personally i belive that it is not acceptable to bring a knife to school however had my brother not did what he did he probably would have been beat to death. Also my brother had never in his life brought a weapon to scholl until the threats started.

Now alot of people might say im just saying all of this because its my little brother but i kno what the cafeteria tapes show. They show the fight and event exactly how i explained it and hopefully sumtime soon the tapes will be shown on the news and you can all see what really happen.

anonymous wrote on October 17, 2008 05:25 PM: to the people who go to chap, you really do not know what your talking about. no one deserves to be harmed physically in any way, weapons shouldn't even be in any problem, if the boy was threating the kid, maybe that boy threatened him first? you shouldn't say that the boy deserved it, no one deserves to be stabbed, or be threatened for that matter. school drama is so dumb, i deal with it everyday too, and its just wrong. we go to school to get an education out of our selves, not to be fights, and bringing weapons to school, its just wrong.

mariah knox wrote on October 17, 2008 02:45 PM: personally i think that the guy that got stabbed should of thought about the consequences before he decided to make threats to people ... i dont believe he had to stab him but he needed justice and the hall monitors nor the police hadnt did anything up to this point and it results in this and we are suppose to feel safe????

and yeap i do go to chap.

amberlynn wrote on October 17, 2008 10:28 AM: This is ridiculous that stuff like this is happening at my school. my friend was standing right next to the incident when it happened. its just stupid that this stuff is going on.

Corinth wrote on October 17, 2008 10:26 AM: Students in schools these days are really shameful. No one has any respect for anyone else anymore, and that's why things like this keep happening.

to Tim: What's "destroying our children" is parents in this country who are too lazy to raise their kids the right way. Instead, they expect video games, TV, and movies to do the job for them. Then, when some tragedy or act of violence like this occurs, those same parents are blaming everything under the sun except their own parental indifference.

Hollywood, hip-hop & the like didn't cause this craziness, plain & simple human ignorance caused it. I feel sorry for all the kids in this country who have to suffer because some parents think taking time out of their supposedly important lives to teach their children basic human decency is beneath them.

nooneknows wrote on October 17, 2008 10:23 AM: Before anyone judges the boy that did the stabbing you should all know the real story.
i am the boys sisters bestfriend
a couple years back the boy who got stabbed and the boy who did the stabbing got into some trouble the one who got stabbed got in trouble with the police the other didnt get in trouble

the boy who got stabbed had been threatening the other boy all year tell him he was going to kill him.
so in defense the other boy brought a knife to school [yes i do think he could of and should of told school officials but c'mmon he doesnt wanna be known as a pussy]

the boy jumped the boy with the knife yesterday and he stabbed him

yes i agree not the best way to go about it
but the boy needs to kind of expect it throwing out death threats and all
