CELEBRATING 'SINSATIONAL'

Norm's column doesn't appear today, because he was busy Wednesday night launching his newest book at the Palms' Playboy Club.

He told partyers that "Vegas Confidential: Sinsational Celebrity Tales" is "pure edgy gossip." Indeed, it's filled with stories about Britney, Paris, Clooney and that cavalcade of nice stars, suck-ups and some who just suck.

  • At the party, Palms owner George Maloof -- friend of Britney et al. -- told me stars do read what Norm writes about them. Sometimes, they're not so happy, but such is journalism.

"Word gets out quickly. They know Norm," Maloof said.

"I've got the best job in the universe," Norm told the crowd. Nearby was his love, Cara Roberts.

Also there: Don Marandino, Rita Rudner, Kerry Simon, Lon Kruger, Robin Leach, Alicia Jacobs, Denise Valdez, Clint Holmes, Larry "Tina Turner" Edwards, Brendan "Elvis" Paul, Michael Boychuck, Zowie Bowie, Monti Rock III, Flo Rogers, Dominic Gentile and Bryan Scofield.

Donny Osmond swung by but ... not inside the Playboy Club. He and Norm chatted a few floors away at Nove restaurant. Donny doesn't do Playboy, if that's not obvious to you.
