CORRECTION -- 11/19/08 -- One of the corporate boards that Rose McKinney-James sits on was listed incorrectly in Tuesday’s Review-Journal, based on outdated information from the office of President-elect Barack Obama. McKinney-James, a Las Vegas businesswoman who was named to one of Obama’s transition teams, is on the board of directors of Employers Holdings Inc., a publicly traded stock firm formerly known as Employers Insurance Group.

WASHINGTON -- Rose McKinney-James, a longtime Las Vegas business and political figure, lobbyist and renewable energy consultant, is part of President-elect Barack Obama's transition team.

McKinney-James is leading a group reviewing the operations of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to help the Obama administration get off to a fast start after the inauguration, the office of the president-elect announced.

McKinney-James was among a dozen people announced by the Obama transition team to review energy and natural resource agencies.

The Nevadan, who has started on the transition job, could not be reached for comment Monday night. A message on her answering machine suggested she would be on her job about a month.

An early Obama supporter in the state, McKinney-James is managing principal of Energy Works Consulting LLC, a renewable energy concern, and McKinney-James and Associates, a government affairs firm.

McKinney-James, 56, served a five-year tenure on the Nevada Public Service Commission during the administration of Gov. Bob Miller. She ran for lieutenant governor in 1998 but lost to Republican Lorraine Hunt.

She has represented the Clark County School District, Barrick Gold and the Caucus of African-American Nevadans as a lobbyist at the Nevada Legislature.

She also serves on a number of boards, including those of MGM-Mirage, Employers Insurance Group, the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy and the Nature Conservancy.

Frankly, I want somebody who will lobby for r-e-a-l, concrete technology that is aligned with the scientists who can support who proposals. There are some of those in Nevada, like Dr. John Tsitoris who was a godfather of solar in Nevada and actually built a home that was completely solar powered. Has she in fact met with him and the other pure scientists that can support her initiatives with Obama in the pursuit of alternative power initiatives?????

If not, than she is just another career politician/lobbyist that is peddling the propaganda of those who best suit her purposes.

And, by the way, the Klan has quite history derived from some of the highest and most respected powers in America. Do your research. There are documentaries that link it not only to some of the presidents, but also to the Masonic lodge, and other "respected" entities. Go figure. . .
