Durango High School students protest budget cuts

Durango High School students protested before school Friday in response to recent cuts made to programs throughout the Clark County School District.

Among programs cut at the southwest Las Vegas school, 7100 W. Dewey Drive, is drama, which held its final performance of the year, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” on April 3.

Just a note, "comes" is correct - hatred is singular.

    You rock man!!!

    You said:

It is funny how you despise education so much, you sound just like the kids in the classroom who have strait F's, were you one of those kids.

That's called a run-on sentence, you seppled 'strait' wrong and you forgot the question mark.

    Then you said:

I think your destain for education comes from your frustration with smart people...they know how to read, write and can do things like triganomitry.

You spelled disdain wrong, you spelled trigonometry and also that's a run-on sentence.

    Then you said:

I think "Abolish_public_education" may be a janitor that always has to clean up after teachers, maybe thats where his hatred for smart people comes from?

Should be 'come', not 'comes.' Also, a run-on sentence.

So, before you attack someone else, you may want to practice what you preach

Abolish medical licensing laws and over time, there will be many non-degreed medical professionals in the marketplace. I don't oppose education, just the *public* variety.

The private schools have some outstanding students who will do great things.

There are some fantastic schools in this town for students who want to learn.

Beyond that, the students do need parents that give a yarn and get involved.

Exactly - NONE. They obtained degrees and are employed taking care of losers that don't believe in education.

When children in NV have no education, cannot read or do simple math and there is no college to attend, FIGURE OUT WHO'S GOING TO TAKE CARE OF YOU WHEN YOU GO TO THE HOSPITAL!!!! Which state will honor your NV Medicaid?? Or better yet, which state would take on the financial burden of mending a worthless drug addict back to health so they can return to NV and do more drugs?

Before anybody slams education too far, you better think ahead. Buy your funeral plot now while it's cheap since you will be in NV - uneducated wasteland full of bums, drug addicts and losers - NO HEALTHCARE, NO EDUCATED CONSTRUCTION CO OWNERS TO BID ON JOBS, NO ARCHITECTS TO ERECT BUILDINGS - YOU'RE S.O.L.

Or do only politically powerful liars like the public sector unions get this kind of treatment?

20 manipulated kids marching in a circle is a "news" story?

Two Cents wrote on April 17, 2009 05:18 PM: This blog is getting silly and off topic. The reality is the money they have is not being used correctly. The whole system needs revamping and how do you do that especially with unions?
Since the supreme court says illegals deserve a basic education why don't we give them just that, basic. The extras could be doled out in a different manner. A voucher system has been brought up. Perhaps basic education for everyone and vouchers could be redeemed by citizens or green card holders only. There are ways around all of this. Thanks guys for listening.
