give it rest wrote on May 02, 2009 02:04 PM: People don’t you realize this town gets a large part it’s revenue from California that’s a fact. So stop whining about California drivers I have seen some really bad Nevada drivers as well

Agree... wrote on May 02, 2009 01:54 PM: We moved here from California many years ago because we were sick and tired of it. We would never move back, nor would we want the Californication of Nevada. If you are unhappy, leave.

dennie wrote on May 02, 2009 12:29 PM: First of all you should obey the school zones and second the ones that are from cali need to go back. I'm sorry that school zones are not part of your history, but we have had school zones since i was growing up and my kids. furthermore, know one told you to come here. I have lived in cali 4 times in my life and I still don't get bumper to bumper thing. Also, this article was about history, and people went segway into another conversation. I don't wnat to hear about he mormons they are just like the rest and took this land from someone else.

Brian wrote on May 02, 2009 10:36 AM: I completely disagree with the city to dismantle this casino. This casino is one of the few remaining opportunities to have something of historical and cultural significance. If this casino were renovated to its original design, and turned into a museum and/or performing arts center for African Americans, this could generate a new reason for tourists to come to Vegas, and bring something of significance to the locals. All Vegas cares about is profit, and 50 years from now they are going to be scratching their heads and wondering why no single piece of Vegas's early history exists. Considering that this place was the first casino that was integrated, this should be considered a cultural achievement. Vegas's greed and lust for money is also its downfall.

meinlv wrote on May 02, 2009 10:24 AM: I am in traffic all day as a "professional" driver in Las Vegas and the WORST drivers I encounter on our streets are the ones with California plates. They zip in and out and around others cars without any regard to speed limits or common courtesy on the roads. A blinker DOES NOT automatically clear the lane next to yours. And just because it looks like your car will fit into the car length I have left between myself and the car in front of me..I didn't do it for YOU. I do it for the safety of my passengers AND others I am sharing the road with. The stupidest accidents I see on the road each day almost always involve a cab or a California licensed vehicle. California drivers should be treated like illegal aliens. We have had to build countless new schools, and widen roads to accommodate YOUR children, and your cars because YOU chose to come HERE to live. Get over yourselves or go back to Cali.

Ed wrote on May 02, 2009 10:02 AM: We have school zones because of Californian drivers. You do not know how to drive, go back to Cali! You want your kids to cross a major street with cars going 45 mph, instead of 15, 25? BTW, God is a scam, don't get to involved with "it"! Only thing you have to answer to is yourself!

robert wrote on May 02, 2009 09:36 AM: You guys are amazing. A story about a sign being moved and you want to integrate crying about school zones and mormons and how great it was in California. If you liked California so much why did you move here and why don't you just move back. I'll bet you both drive like your from California too 65 in a 35 and 90 on the freeway. Do us all a favor and just go home.
