REVIEW: Pop star shines during special Encore engagement

Can she come back and do this again sometime? It seems like something this child was destined to do. Only next time, can we skip the $1,100 ticket part?

There’s no safer bet for future Cher-style Vegas divahood than Beyoncé Knowles. She’s still a month shy of 28 and, with the box office rake of “Obsessed,” only now starting to explore the full potential of her movie career. Vegas can wait, ’tis true.

  • But nothing in this career is left to chance. Beyoncé is staking an early claim on her Las Vegas future with a four-night custom run in the Encore Theater, which concludes Sunday night. Cameras are set to roll on the final show, with a planned DVD to give regular fans a chance to see this early and respectable attempt to grow beyond arena-pop mechanics into a more intimate and authentic showcase.

Go out and get a job for God's sake, maybe then you can get a life of your own----as miserable as it probably will be. What a bunch of losers....

CK wrote on August 01, 2009 08:52 PM: $1100 IS THE MOST EXPENSIVE TICKET AND THE CHEAPEST IS $250. THE FIRST 2 NIGHTS HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL. MANY OF THOSE TICKETS ARE COMPED ANYWAY TO ALL OF THE HIGH ROLLERS WYNN&ENCORE HAVE. I'M A DEALER THERE AND OUR TIPS HAVE BEEN AWESOME WITH ALL OF THE HIGH ROLLERS AND CELEBRITIES!!!!RUMOR HAS IT BY THE WAY THAT GARTH BROOKS AND STEVE WYNN ARE VERY CLOSE TO WORKING OUT A POSSIBLE DEAL..

Chris wrote on August 01, 2009 08:15 PM: The tickets include a room for two nights. So if you are from out of town, you are getting a decent deal... show plus rooms. If you are local you are stuck with two rooms you don't need...$1100.

jimbo wrote on August 01, 2009 08:03 PM: Somehow I doubt that Beyonce is getting that $1000 per ticket. I suspect most of it goes to Encore, and thats a good thing for Las Vegas in the middle of this recession !!!

elle wrote on August 01, 2009 06:54 PM: seriously, 1,000 bucks ticket.. that is ridiculous! she's overrated and there are far more talentedn singers out there. TAMIA, STACIE ORRICO, AMERIE to name a few.. these ladies need to have more promotion than beyonce. we get it she can sing and act but for crying out loud, her face is all over the place it is sickening.

Heavily marketed and lacking in substance.

A lot of people buy it, and it makes a lot of money.

You know, like a Big Mac.
