  • "The heart is damaged and not going to get any better," he told Vegas Confidential.

He said a virus has been destroying his heart since childhood. "And they said I'll probably need a transplant."

He was shocked, he said, to learn his doctors are convinced he's already had a heart attack.

"If I lose the weight and keep my blood thin, I should be all right," he said. "They are seeing what they can do without doing the transplant."

He indicated he had no plans to end his show, although he had suggested recently he was considering retirement.

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil is opening a rock 'n' roll themed bar-restaurant in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Neil, a Las Vegas resident, plans to name the establishment Dr. Feelgood's Rock Bar and fill it with band memorabilia and his Harley collection, according to the Palm Beach Post.

His partners include former University of Florida quarterback Bob Hewko, a Vegas regular.

A side note: A next-door neighbor will be "Top Chef" star Stephen Asprinio, formerly of Las Vegas, who is opening an Italian restaurant called Forte Di Asprinio, with the backing of his uncle Bob Cuillo, a Broadway producer.

    PFISTER OUT

Veteran weather forecaster Mark Pfister is out at KTNV-TV, Channel 13, after three years on the morning news show.

KTNV general manager Jim Prather announced Tuesday that the station "failed to reach terms on a contract extension," and Pfister is no longer an employee, effective immediately.

"We wish him all the best in his future job opportunities," Prather said.

Pfister, who could not be reached for comment, has been a local weatherman since 1992, other than the year he spent in New York and two years in Washington, D.C., in weather jobs. He had previously twice worked for KLAS-TV, Channel 8.
