NORM: Barr touts 'vision for talk radio'

Roseanne Barr, whose 14-week run at New York-New York ended Sunday, is hinting that she's ready to join the big-time radio wars.

Her 14-week contract for a weekday talk show at KCAA radio in San Bernardino, Calif., was up last Friday, she said on her Web site, and she was offered a two-hour morning slot by the station.

  • But, she added, "I never intended to stay with KCAA." The idea was to get experience, assemble a demo reel and be ready to go to work in September.

"I proved to myself and to anyone who doubted my ability to focus and deliver that I have what it takes and that my word is gold," wrote Barr. "Soon, everyone will discover how absolutely timely and right on my vision for talk radio is."

She called the demo "better than any other show on the radio right now. I also will proudly present John Argent, my discovery, as a great radio commentator, great voice talent, and life partner."

Argent previously was known as Rod Argent, keyboardist for the 1960s band The Zombies.

Ralph Burkey wrote on June 22, 2007 05:14 AM: Norm, are you sure about that Rod/John Argent thing? I went to Rod Argent's website and there is no mention of John Argent, Roseanne, or anything else except Rod Argent's music, (as a member of Argent and The Zombies), and current tour dates, including something called "Hippiefest", which sounds kind of fun.

    Just wondering...
