Panel's forum to focus on war veterans

A Department of Veterans Affairs advisory committee is to conduct a town hall meeting Wednesday night in Las Vegas.

The 7-9 p.m. meeting is to be in the Jewel Box Theater of the Las Vegas Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road, between Maryland Parkway and Eastern Avenue.

  • The event is to be an open forum, but the discussion will focus on veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their families, a VA spokesman in Las Vegas said.

    He said nine members of the Veterans Affairs Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom Advisory Committee will field comments from veterans, caretakers and survivors. The panel makes recommendations to department officials.
