Former Henderson mayor takes job with Greenspun Corp.

Around the time former Henderson Mayor James Gibson was hanging up his gavel, he was finalizing plans to work for a Henderson-based newspaper and magazine publisher.

The Las Vegas Sun reported Tuesday that its publishing parent, The Greenspun Corp., hired Gibson as a senior vice president. Gibson’s mayoral term expired Tuesday evening.

  • Besides serving as mayor of Henderson, Gibson also was a member of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority board of directors and served the Regional Transportation Commission.

    In addition to publishing the Sun newspaper and myriad magazines, the Greenspun Corp. also is the parent of American Nevada Company, a real estate and development company.

    Don't cheat wrote on June 17, 2009 10:42 PM: Great guy ... great hire for the Greenspuns. On the flip side, the R-J will probably be hiring John Ensign soon enough. LOL.
