  • Authorities said Hamm, 17, was believed to have been trying to rob people at the birthday party. He shot Jared in the back while the victim was running away from the party at his sister's apartment, near Nellis Boulevard and Sahara Avenue, police said.

Hamm is being held at the county jail without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on July 29.

Its even more sad that the programs that this young man should be completing for his action, are non existent, and instead a 17yr. who could have easily been your 17yr. is tried, and crucified in the media as well as the court room, and then shipped off to a box for 23 hrs a day for the rest of his natural life. Rehabilitation, is the key word but of coursed it wouldn't bother or change any one. Hopefully the victims family can come to terms with the death of a family member, and the child will get the real help he need, I will be prying for both, as far as gangs, these young man turn to them because the schools and communities, don't put forth enough effort to really help these children be for they get to the point of gangs.

An innocent 15 year old boy lost his life to a predatory piece of human garbage. I don't care what color the perpetrator is, that boy is just as dead as if that guy was white, brown, blue or purple. The laws need to be changed and gangs outlawed or you are going to start seeing some serious vigilante justice. People will start to react to the continued violence in our society. I don't care if this slime is only 17. He purposely took a life in a violent and callous manner. So what? Now a trial, and if he does get the death penalty it will be years of appeals at taxpayers expense and he'll grow old waiting for the needle. What happened to swift justice? That creep should be done away with ASAP. My tears for that slain boys family. That slime bag deserves to be drawn and quartered.
