  • Capt. Cedric Williams of the North Las Vegas Fire Department said family members found the child unresponsive in a pool at a home at 1300 E. Brooks Ave., near Cheyenne Avenue and Civic Center Drive. First-responders arrived at the home about 11:15 a.m., Williams said.

He said a family member or a friend performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child.

He said it appeared family members at the home were eating somewhere inside the house when the child went missing. Williams said he didn’t know how long the boy had been submerged.

casinocon wrote on November 05, 2009 06:23 PM: You know, when I was growing up my mother was always saying "Go play outside!" -- we road our bikes all over town without helmets and walked to school all by ourselves. No seatbelts, kids riding in the back of trucks, once my grandfather even gave us a wild pony colt for Easter -- here you go kids, have fun!!! I was terrified of the Zodiac Killer, but we slept with the doors unlocked and my parents really didn't care as long as we were home by dinner. I don't condemn these parents for not watching their children every second of every day. Accidents happen, sad but true.

he is dead, oh wait he is still alive, oops !!
RJ needs to close it doors and become a recycling center, since recycling is the only thing the RJ is good for, that and as a bird cage liner.

North Vista is not a peds hospital and UMC is closer than Mt View. They have to transport by their medical protocols.

Hope the water was COLD wrote on November 05, 2009 03:48 PM: Many times when children "drown" in cold water, not only are they able to be resusitated but little or no damage is done to their brains.

Hang in there Little Guy. A lot of people are praying for you......................
