A 7-year-old boy fired a 9 mm handgun into an unoccupied vehicle before school this morning as he was waiting for a school bus, but no one was injured, according to Clark County School District police.

Police Sgt. Darnell Couthen said the shooting happened at the intersection of Misty Haze Street and Wigwam Avenue.

The student, whom police declined to identify because he's a juvenile, attends Ries Elementary School in southwest Las Vegas.

Couthen said the gun was recovered, and the boy was kept out of school for the day while the investigation was being conducted.

He said another child from the boy's household was present at the time of the incident, but he didn't know how many other students were at the bus stop.

This information was given to the parents at the school by way of a letter home, so question away.

As for the news media that reported the misinformation it was reported on lvrj.com and early on the chanel 3 news. They were caring on at the school like the papparazzi does whens stars are present.

I guess some of you might find this funny because you use phrases like "leave us the eff alone"
Grow up. this why our society is going in the direction it is going.
    Or shall I say misdirection.
