District Judge Stefany Miley applied for and was granted a temporary protective order against her husband who was arrested on domestic abuse charges last week, court documents obtained Monday said.

Edward Miley, 42, was arrested by Las Vegas police Thursday after Stefany Miley called them from a neighbor’s house and told them her husband had been drinking and was abusive to her, a police report said. Court documents said Edward Miley, who is an attorney, was arrested on two counts of domestic battery.

According to the documents filed in the Family Division of Clark County District Court, Stefany Miley arrived home from her son’s school and found her husband was visibly drunk.

The document said she told her husband she wanted a divorce, and he began making “nasty comments” to her.

Her husband then “body slammed her, and came up behind her and hit her in the hip area,” court documents said.

The court papers said Edward Miley then became abusive with the family dog. The documents said Stefany Miley heard her dog yelping and went downstairs. She saw her husband grabbing the dog by the throat and threatening to kill it.

Stefany Miley pulled the dog away from her husband, but he managed to chase the dog upstairs and began choking it.

The police report said the dog bit him when he was taking it out of the kennel at their home. Stefany Miley told police her husband was already drunk prior to being bitten.

When police arrested Edward Miley they saw blood on his hands and shirt, the police report said. The report added that a veterinarian service had been called for the dog.

According to the report, one of the couple’s sons told police he saw his father hit his mom and choke the dog.

As Edward Miley was being arrested, he told a lieutenant that he: “would like you to arrest better looking hookers because I am tired of defending ugly ones.”

Edward Miley is best known for representing Charles Cashmore, one of the defendants in the O.J. Simpson robbery case.

Court documents said the Mileys have been married 12 years. According to the temporary protective order, Edward Miley is not allowed to be within 100 yards of his home, his children’s elementary school, and his wife’s workplace, the Regional Justice Center.

The order also said he’s not to be physically abusive with any family pets. The order expires Wednesday.

Edward Miley was not listed as an inmate at the Clark County Detention Center Monday.

Stefany Miley, 38, is a former Family Court judge who was elected into the seat left vacated by Elizabeth Halverson.

Miley let the ex get away with kidnapping our son from daycare, but the lousy DA in this town did too! Miley 'considered' letting the ex take our son to Kuwait until got the State Dept to intervene. She made some pretty poor judgments in our case- even sat on the bench and said she didn't know what to do.

Still, I heard through the circles that her husband was a character. All what she did to me and my family (and I still have my children) through 5 years of litigation, I still feel for her being in this situation. It's tough. It's even tougher when you're in a high profile position.

She has a long road ahead of her, but at least she has money. I had no money to buy a lawyer to fight my battles. I hope she takes this life lesson to heart. Move Miley. Las Vegas isn't for kids anyway.

Just when you think you have heard it all...this is Vegas baby! I used to have respect for judges, Senators, Congressman, doctors, lawyers, etc. until I moved to Nevada. Sounds like the worst of our community are the people in the highest positions. God help us, or is he a scumbag too?
