Escalator accident at Caesars Palace still under investigation

Officials for Caesars Palace today said they are still investigating the cause of an escalator accident that injured a dozen people on Saturday.

The 1 p.m. accident on a convention escalator caused the people to be taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center for treatment. They were treated and released the same day, according to Harrah's Entertainment spokeswoman Debbie Munch.

There is nothing that the CEOs bonus does not not take precedence over including guest safety. The currant image and past history of Vegas continues to suffer. SAD

The attendant/assigned pers told us to go slowly and give some room as the esc could fail and they did. I think that common sense needs to be there but if they may fail as CP sort of indicted does this not show a pre-known condition or concern?????

They are always out of service and being worked on by Otis people; just look for the guys in the green jumpsuits, they are full time employees. This failure doesn't surprise me at all.

He had a broken knee joint and said he thought people were dying around him because people were piling up at the bottom of the escelator. He said it was like skiing down the slopes.
Passers by were pulling people apart and away from the site.

Yet another thing that's killing journalism, if that word actually applies to whatever it is the R-J does.
