The Las Vegas motorcycle officer struck by a vehicle Wednesday night remains hospitalized this morning, although his injuries are not life threatening, police confirmed.

Evidence at the scene indicates a Jeep, eastbound on Sahara, hit the officer from behind as both vehicles traveled in the left passing lane.

The driver of the Jeep, 34-year-old Dana Saunders, was arrested for DUI with substantial bodily harm.

The officer, a 45-year-old male, was not identified.

Said it before and I'll say it again, LV Motor Cops are possibly the bravest people on earth. I'd figure out a way to bypass Vegas somehow if I was riding a bike. Vegas is just plain scary!

    RE: Sam

Unfortunitly due to past discrepencies and rational and informed person has to question these situations when Metro is involved. This is a fact brought on by that department and will exist till there are real changes, not just empty policies that each and everyone of us will see violated at some point.
