A suspected drunken driver was arrested after crashing into a vehicle and killing two 66-year-old people in Henderson on Tuesday.
Anita Mann, 19, was booked into the Henderson Detention Center on two counts of driving under the influence resulting in death for the 11:40 a.m. crash.
Henderson police said she was driving a Hyundai Accent east on Horizon Ridge Parkway at Shaded Canyon Drive, near Gibson Road, when she rear-ended a Hyundai sport utility vehicle.
The SUV spun out of control and overturned. Both the 66-year-old male driver from Henderson and his 66-year-old female passenger died at the scene. Their names were not released.
Mann was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police had received reports of a drunken driver about five minutes before the accident in the area of Horizon Ridge Parkway and Stephanie Street, nearly two miles from the crash scene.
Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. The results of Mann's blood test are pending, police said.

Fact's are facts. We, the people of the Vegas Valley have now witnessed two double homicides by careless, reckless, impaired drivers in the last three weeks. Add to that the countless acts of self over indulgence and we have a fasction of society out of control. Harsh circumstances require harsh reaction. No more wrist slapping, no more lenientcy. In these cases both drivers were pulled from the wreckage, which they created. How much jury admissable proof do we need. Execute them on prime time new's. Replay the footage until each demographic of society has had their chance of exposure. Make it graphic, leave it as harsh as it is. Our younger generations seem to be in a trance by electronic media. They seem to feel immune from the physical reality of pain and loss. Logically the only way to rattle them from that state id to expose them to the reality of life and death mistakes. Put the perpetrators of these crimes in the same position as the victims...voiceless, incapable of further experience, unable to connect with loved ones. Harsh reality is the answer.
"Poor thing"....Doc X - tell me you're being (hopefully) sarcastic right?? If not better to direct your sympathies where they are deserved and it sure the heck isn't with this loser. By virtue of her name alone I can see what kinda 'stuff' she comes from - parents were obviously drunk, stoned or both when the named her - even someone with a real sense of humor would know where to draw the line. Losers - the whole pathetic family - for sure.
