A San Diego man suspected of driving under the influence was arrested Sunday morning after his vehicle rear-ended another car on Tropicana Avenue near the Strip, killing one woman and injuring another, Las Vegas police said.

Police said driver of the vehicle that was hit, 55-year-old Cynthia Konarksi of Las Vegas, was critically injured in the collision. The identity of her passenger, a 21-year-old woman who died at the scene, was not released by authorities. Police said she was from Dearborn Heights, Mich.

Edris Ghani, 32, was arrested on suspicion of being impaired while driving, police said.

The collision occurred about 4:04 a.m. on Tropicana, west of Duke Ellington Way, police said. Konarksi was traveling west on Tropicana in a 2004 Mercury Sable, and Ghani was directly behind her in a 2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS 550. Police said Ghani failed to reduce his speed and collided with the Sable.

Ghani and his passenger, 26-year-old Shakeeb Azizi of Temecula, Calif., were uninjured.

The collision remains under investigation. The woman's death is the 77th traffic fatality this year under the jurisdiction of Las Vegas police.

it looks like this piece of garbage also is living with his mother in the condo , she has a flower business out of the house, same address as his newly formed world wide investment, about the only thing world wide is his ignorance and the amount of people around the world who thinks he should be put down! Oh for the moron taht claims seat belt saves lives...from a rear collison the seat belt does very little as the body is moving backwards, seat belt is much bettter stopping you going forward...and in order to kill someone hitting them from behind, you pretty much have to compress the entire rer structure of the car so that they are crushed from behind...painful way to go. and also apparently this eyebrow shaving fruit thinks he is hot as he is also registered with a site call who's hot...what a waste of oxygen

Well, Vegasdude2010, people are out and about at 4am on a weekend. When the city caters to approx. 36million tourist a year, you will find them at that hour all around and about the strip. Now lets see if these guys will flee overseas never to see an American prison.
