Las Vegas police now consider a 2-year-old missing persons case to be a homicide.

Dragon Rnic Sr., 56, was last seen Dec. 1, 2009, driving a white Honda Odyssey minivan. The vehicle was abandoned on the side of state Route 160 near mile marker 20, east of Mountain Springs. The case went cold when investigators couldn't figure out whether Rnic was the victim of foul play. The case was transferred to the department's homicide section.

In October, a body was found in a desert area next to where the van had been found. The Clark County coroner's office will release the identity and cause and manner of death, but police believe the body to be Rnic.

Police said the ongoing investigation has led to the identification of Blazenko Jurasek as a suspect in the case .

It doesn't say his body was found NEXT to the van. It says the body was found in the desert AREA next to where the van was found. I don't know much about the desert area mentioned in this story, but from personal experience I can tell you its not as easy to find someone that has passed away out in the desert once you've located their car. However I'm surprised that it took 2 years, I would have (and did) comb the desert area until I found my loved one... and I wouldn't (and didn't) stop until they were found.
